  "Our favorite place.."
  "Hale Ho'onanea fits our style entirely. We've stayed here 3 times and will again, we hope. It's perfect for us because: 1) Breakfast is on your own as there is a basket of food in the room filled with a fruit to prepare, small loaf of breakfast bread, coffee, sugar, macadamias, a sweet, cereals,..." while in the refrig is milk, juice and some condiments. 2) Even tho' Melanie and Bruce are very friendly, coming and going is free and easy, not watched carefully. However, if recommendations are desired, they are willing to offer advice, and have guide books on hand to help. Lovely folks. 3) The lanai has the most spectacular view -- love being back from the day to enjoy watching the sunset. 4)A welcome king size bed is provided. Many fans throughout the accommodation provides needed cooling. This is a remote location but indeed close enough to make it to the best beaches in Hawaii in 10-15 minutes, close to groceries, close to Hawi, the cutest little artsy town, is just up a ... " More >

  "This B&B is located across the street from some beaches for great snorkeling and to see sea turtles. These are rocky beaches though, but very close by are very nice sandy beaches (beach 69, Hapuna beach). The owners have snorkeling gear, body boards and beach chairs available for guests, though thos..."e are old and could do with some replacement. Puako itself doesn't have much to offer, only a general store. For some restaurants in the area you will need to drive a few miles. The room was very good and luckily had airconditioning. Breakfast was nice, but nothing special compared to other B&B's we stayed in on Hawaii. " More >

  "We stayed four nights in the Treetop Suite with three adults. It was a lovely relaxing place to come home to after a day of activities. At night the stargazing was nearly as lovely as from the top of Mauna Kea... The breakfasts were amazing - by far the best we had on our holiday in Hawaii - and Eri..."ka is a wonderful host. She went out of her way to help us plan our activities. Waimea is a good base from which to explore the Kohala Coast, Waipio Valley and Mauna Kea, and has plenty of good restaurant and grocery stores. For those not interested in staying in a beach resort, I would definitely recommend staying here (its only a 15 minute drive from the beach). " More >
