We rented the cottage out the back which had 2 large queen bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, lounge area etc. We also rented two rooms in the main house - both with large queen beds and a shared bathroom. Everything was very neat, clean, and the rooms were large and had everything you would need. There was even free Wifi. The property is about 30 minutes South of Hilo in a residential area but is located on a dead end street, therefore very quiet at night. We fell asleep to the sounds of the Coqui frogs every night. The nights are a cool and refreshing respite from the daily heat everywhere else on the Island. The property is close to Volcano National Park, the lava flow and Hilo. It's a perfect location for exploring the lush side of the Big Island. The only nitpik would be that it was a bit far to drive to Saddle Road to go up Mauna Kea. " More >

Lonely Planet recommend this place in their Big Island book. The only down side is the roads to Art and Orchids were not in great shape. The street they are located on is gravel. " More >
