  "We stayed here 2 years ago when our grandson was born at UPenn. This time we stayed to attend a wedding. What wonderful improvements! The staff were attentive and very friendly. The room was beautiful. Even the famous Sheraton bed seemed refreshed and even more comfortable (if that is possible)...". We were apprehensive about staying here due to the poor reviews. Yes, we are Starwood members and stayed on the Club Floor but everything seemed brand new. Sheraton's Downtown is still our favorite hotel in Philadelphia but University City is definitely a close second. " More >

  "We spent 3 nights here when visiting for Penn graduation. The location is great as a downtown location (it's not adjacent to Penn)--very close to stores, restaurants and Reading Terminal Market (don't miss!). We had two rooms--1008 and 1002. 1008 was a perfect room--quiet, comfortable, a mix of d..."own and non-down pillows, etc. 1002 was less desirable as it was close to the elevator and quite noisy. Also, the TV is placed on a wall not facing the bed so watching TV is very awkward. Oddly, there weren't any down pillows in this room either so our experience in this room wasn't as pleasant as that in room 1008. In addition to having a very comfortable experience in 1008, the best thing about the hotel is the staff--incredibly pleasant, upbeat and ready to help. Everyone we encountered was fabulous. I do recommend this hotel--just consider not getting a room near the elevator and, if you want a down pillow, ask! " More >
