  "Myself, husband, daughter and her boyfriend stayed here for one night in May. After what was a bitter disappointment with the previous bed and breakfast ( number one in trip advisor for Philadelphia!!!) the Inn at White Oak was such a delight. Whenever I read about warm, friendly...."just like fami..."ly" welcomes a little bit of me squirms inside but not here.....the family were genuinely welcoming and seemed delighted to allow us to share their beautiful home. We used their fabulous Indoor pool both in the evening of our arrival and the following morning before breakfast. Breakfast was served with such attention to detail and there was enough food to keep you going for the whole day and all of superb quality. My daughter's boyfriend Tom, also left behind a jacket which the family very sweetly posted on for him. I have taken away wonderful memories of our trip to the US as have the rest of our group and The Inn at White Oak has contributed much to this. I cannot think of one word to... " More >

  "We couldn't leave!"
  "My husband and I planned on staying at the Inn at White Oaks and tour Gettysburg for a couple of nights on our way to Baltimore then Washington DC. The moment we arrived at the Inn we knew we would not want to leave! It is even more beautiful in person and even more welcoming than we imagined. It's ..."paradise. We went swimming in the incredible heated, indoor swimming pool, sat outside on the patios and decks, walked the grounds, enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and ponds, played billiards, watched Lincoln and the recently released movies in the theater, sat in the comfortable game room and formal parlor to read, loved each evenings desserts, loved every mornings breakfast and decided we just couldn't leave! We extended our stay and ended up spending 4 nights instead of 2! We still did not want to leave and will definitely be back and will plan on staying longer next time since we did not see much of Gettysburg since we didn't want to leave the Inn! Sadly, people do try anything and everything to get a free room or a discount, and that even includes bringing in bugs in plastic ba..."gs to have as "evidence". It is amazing that one only has to read the other reviews and nothing even close to negativity is reported. Our hotels should and must be on guard constantly for problems, and being pro-active is better than being re-active. These kinds of guests should, but probably will never, be ashamed of themselves. Hardworking managers, guest service agents and housekeepers do their level best to make sure our hotel rooms are clean and comfortable for our guests...after all, why would we want to do anything that would cause our very customers to complain or never want to return????
