  "If you want basic accommodation at a reasonable price located close to Bugibba Square, you need look no further than the Damiani hotel. The studio apartments are basic but clean. Ours had single and double beds, a small sofa, a table and 3 chairs and a small kitchen area (useful for making breakfas..."t and preparing snacks, but I wouldn't recommend trying to cook dinner!). No need to worry too much about cooking, however, as Splash!, the bar across the road is highly recommended for breakfast (€3.20) and for lunch specials (bangers and mash, shepherd's pie etc. at €3.50 - €4.50). The apartment was cleaned every day, and towels also changed daily. A small leak at the back of the toilet bowl was promptly dealt with when reported to reception. The shower is "gentle" rather than "invigorating", but adequate for all that. Both the reception and cleaning staff are friendly and efficient.   "We have just returned from a week at the Porto Azzuro. I have to say we were a bit worried given some of the reviews. However, we were given a large hotel room on the first floor, with large balcony, TV and large well equiped and clean bathroom. Refurbishments had clearly moved on a pace. Ok, so t..."he room faced another building and you couldn't see any views without craning your neck on the balcony, but for the money we had paid for this relatively cheap holiday, we were very impressed. The room was well decorated and kept spotlessly clean. Fresh towels and sheets most days. Shower was excellent in the bath and loads of good hot water whenever we needed it. Breakfasts were amazing with everything you could possibly wish for and all on a buffet basis, so could eat as much as you like. Lovely tea and coffee. Same for the evening meals there. The only negative thing we found was the poor attitudes and bad manners of some of the guests who seemed to want to moan about everything.
