The room was comfortable and of reasonable size, the bathroom was modern and had an excellent shower, and the view, even with the weather, was extraordinary. One tip—if you carry a fair amount of electronics, an extension cord is very handy. WiFi functioned flawlessly in the room. The hotel has no lift, but the staff is willing to help with luggage when they’re around. There is a bit of street noise with open windows, but the tradeoff for the view is worth it, and the room is quiet with the windows closed.   "We had such a WONDERFUL time at this charming hotel run by the very, very nice Paola. She went out of her way to make our stay special, picked us up at the ferry landing and took us back when it was time to leave, which was so appreciated since we're starting to feel our years. Everything was spot..."less, her breakfasts are yummy, and her husband's restaurant is superb. We had a downstairs lake view by request. The busy road can be a bit noisy with the window open, but it really wasn't a problem for us. At night we both wear earplugs and heard no noise at all. The bathroom was good with a great shower and lots of hot water. The hotel's terrace across the street is a magical place right on the lake, where meals are served in good weather. You haven't lived until you sit there with a glass of wine and watch the sun set, we spent four weeks in Italy and our stay at Lake Como was the highlight of our trip. Thank you Paola and Ty! We had paid to upgrade our room before arriving & were not in the least bit disappointed with what we were given, room 17 has no balcony to sit out on but French doors open to reveal an amazing view of Bellagio. The room is large, airy and had a massive bathroom - exc..."ellent with 3 ladies sharing!!! There is building work being carried out opposite the hotel but we didn't find the noise disruptive. Given the nature of the work (a floating pool) I think it reflects the commitment, vision and aspirations possessed by the owners. There was a virus in the area (not just the hotel) & hand wash was available in several places within the hotel - some people just walked past it despite observing others using it. May have been a good idea to have had some near the food in the dining hall rather than just the entrance to it? The waiting staff worked tirelessly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
