Buster's Beach Bar is a favorite place for hanging out, they even offer breakfast now. Otherwise we head over to Pete's Pub for the evening -- about a 10 minute drive, so a rental car from airport is a must to get around. Everyone staying here has a golf cart for shuttling around the property. Our kids are college age -- and they totally love this place, too. If you want night life, you probably need to go to Nassau. We always spend several days in Nassau before coming here, and typically can't wait to get out of there and on to Abaco... " More >

  "Nothing against "chain" hotels, but the little owner-operated places like Lofty Fig are definitely the way to go. Lofty Fig is owned by "Sid", who himself is a reason to visit Marsh Harbor. It's located right in the middle of the restaurant/nightlife/waterfront district of Marsh Harbor. Dining, recr..."eation and just plain relaxation are all within walking distance. Dive Abaco is just a few hundred feet away. And if you want more mobility, Rental Wheels is just a short walk down the road. Cars, bikes and motor scooters. But don't forget- In Bahamas you drive on the LEFT! Lofty Fig is about 3 miles from the airport and a mile from the ferry docks. The rooms are actually studio apartments with fully equipped kitchen and screened patios looking out onto the pool. Three buildings with two units each. So with only 6 rooms available, you DEFINITELY get the owner's personal attention. When you come to Marsh Harbor (or anywhere in the Bahamas) you have to be prepared for "a bit" of sticker shock....
