This place isn't the easiest to get to but it is worth the drive up the mountain if your not skiing down to it. It is a little spendy but it was worth it, my wife said it was the best meal she had in taos and I agree. Just wish we could have made it back to try more... More

That is about it. The food is average, the atmosphere is novelty and the service is good. Prices are high.

When we walked in, it was like being transported to Bavaria. Even the servers wore traditional tyrollean clothing. The beer was great, and the warm herb bread was delicious. We were a party of four, and my husband and I shared the Bavarian sampler and we were so glad we did. The other couple ordered duck and veiner schnitzel, both... More

Highly recommend stopping here in the middle of the ski day. Great atmosphere and food was really good. Had the sausage platter and would recommend it.

We go here a lot: super location on the back of Taos mountain, accessible by ski lift or shuttle in winter. It's an alpine chalet, with a countinuously sunny terasse. And, great beers on tap. BUT- the food is really average. Bavarian serves primarily German food and it's a letdown. Thick schnitzels, greasy, not pounded and covered in cornflake coating.... More

We were there during a time when the ski area was empty. Therefore, the restaurant was empty. Food, service and ambiance were great. Nice to not eating cafeteria style. Try the fried fish. It was delicious.

Very expensive. Food Average Quality. Service good but slow. Bathrooms are frigid. One attractive thing about the restuarant is the free shuttle service that will pick you up...since a 4x4 vehicle is needed to reach the location.

Tuesdays are fondue night at the Bavarian. We were a party of ten, including an 8 and an 11 year-old, and had a wonderful evening sharing both cheese and beef fondue, based on the recipes of the legendary ski instructor and restaurant owner Godie Schuetz. Dessert was a delicious pear tart with fresh raspberries and blueberries. Fun atmosphere and good,... More

We made reservations for a birthday dinner. We were just down the road at the Main ski enterance at another function and were running a little late. We called to see if it would be a problem and they said "no, just get here as soon as you can". We only ended up being about 10mins late. The restaurant was... More
