Scarlet's remains a consistent favorite in the Payne's Bay area. Make sure to make reservations, as the spot is well known by locals and tourists. Good menu, nice wine list, and good service. Not a spot for kids, but great for couples/adults.

Arrived early to sit at the bar and was surprised to see a couple turned away until later, the place was empty...until 5 minutes afterwards the place filled up. Good food and great atmosphere, well worth a visit, staff very good. Had to leave in a hurry as the wife had not been feeling too good all day but will return
If you are traveling to Barbados, you may not wish to spend over $300 every night for dinner. If that is you, Scarlet is the place to go. Casual (no dress code like most other places) and great food. Prices are reasonable! It is across the street from The House and a short walk from The Cliff restaurant.
We ate in Scarlet in May for evening dinner place was buzzing - lots of atmosphere Food was great, we opted for 5 starters as we had eaten so much at lunch and they were delicious Good wine selection also Staff polite and friendly Good evening all round
We took out a Bajan couple to diner at Scarlet; they had never been there. We had decided to go due to a recommendation from friends of our. The quality of the food is very high, with many interesting choices. I would give the restaurant 5 stars except for the following: pricing is high, portions are smallish, we never could...

Looks average from the outside and the entrance is down the side but a lively atmosphere inside. Colour scheme is red ( hence the name !!) Good food and service.
We have eaten at Scarlets 3 times during our 2 week trip and each time it has been great for food and service. Would definitely recommend.
We went here for a meal whilst staying at Waves. Really lovely staff, very friendly. Locals were eating in here which is always a good sign. Great choice of food and very reasonable prices including drinks. The Bajan Welsh Rarebit is gorgeous! Not a romantic restaurant but a great night out. Treat yourself as a change from your all inclusive...

We made last minute reservations so we took a bar seating which was fine. W had the welsh rarebit and fish cakes as starter. We shared the blue cheese burger which was very good. It is a busy and smallish place but has really nice atmosphere. I would recommend reservations in advance for a good table.
Sometimes you just want an easy going place with a simple menu. The food here is lovely, especially baxters chicken and gravy, washed down with a fab cocktail which they do so well. The waiters are really nice and helpful, albeit a little disorganised. Overall, good value by Barbados standards and a welcome alternative to fancy dining.
