Description: The recently opened Astrid y Gaston is modern, but welcoming, sophisticated, and elegant.

Continuing with my quest to visit all A&G restaurants in america, this time I went to the mexican branch and was not disappointed. As usual, the restaurant is in a very large and nice house, at the posh Polanco neighborhood. Service was amazing, it seems there is one waiter per table and they never left us unattended. The menu presented... More

Many popular choices with unusual preparations that were delicious. The best meal we had during our stay. Very attractive decor and excellent service staff.

First visit was excellent; atmosphere, service, menu, food etc., etc. Visited yesterday with family to brag about the Restaurant and was surprised. Welcoming was far from cordial. Service was really poor for this "top of the notch place", although food was still great. Ceviches and shrimp are excellent. Perhaps this time they did not have enough personel, but I think... More

Sat in the beautiful outdoor space, right next to the fireplace. Ceviche was the best I've ever had. Suckling pig entrée was amazing. Service was professional and attentive...right down to the selection of bread! Definitely one of the best spots in Mexico City for a romantic dinner!

I have eaten here 3 times and I am continuously impressed by the quality of food, service, and environment. The food speaks for itself -- flavors of Peru, fresh seafood, everything well-cooked. Best place in DF to get a pisco sour, even the breads they offer are exquisite. Definitely sample the different types of ceviche on offer. My favorite dish... More

Go for suckling pig marinated for 3 weeks. Seviche etc of course. Cocktails and dessert worth attention, too.

Astrid y Gaston is perfect in every way, from the freshest, most flavorful tiraditos, to the amazing chocolate encrusted sorbet dessert. It was probably the best, albeit most expensive, meal we had in Mexico. But is it authentic Peruvian? Well, what's "authentic?" Anything that costs this much isn't going to be entirely "authentic," if by that term one means "typical."... More

This is a truly amazing experience and one that requires reservations - not only for a seating at the restaurant but also specifically for the tasting menu --- it's a 3 to 4 hour event, so an early seating time is required. It was truly art all around - from the blend of flavors in each course, to the presentation... More
