We go to Cozumel at least 2 times a year. Last time, we went to la Choza 3 times during the same week: food is excellent, ambiance is perfect, and the service is exceptional. more

La Choza is one of Cozumel's oldest restaurants and serves good food at reasonable prices. The service is good and your food arrives quickly. However, we have never been rushed to vacate the table. It is good for lunch or dinner. more

I have no idea why everyone likes this place. We were there on 02/25/10. It has no atmosphere, the food was less than desirable. The service was more like being watched by security rather than being attended by good wait staff. I did have a soup that I wish I could remember it's name that was very tasty. It had... more

Been there at least 6 times and was very disappointed in the food this time. Great new location. I'm not sure we would go back there next time. Maybe for lunch I would try again. What happened to authentic Mexican with heat!!! more

O.K. it's a beautiful atmosphere for indoor dining and the free Jamaica is a nice touch. If you prefer overpriced, bland Mexican food (altered to suit tourist tastes), you need to be in a fairly chic, upscale place and you don't mind paying high prices for it, this may be for you. We found the food OK, but definately not... more

This was our first trip to Cozumel and we asked the cab driver to take us to the place where she would want to eat right then if she was hungry and she took us to La Choza. We were impressed from the get go! The queso had several layers of flavor with a chili heat to finish it off... more

Having not been to the old location, we fell in love with this restaurant and visited three times in 11 days. The grilled red snapper (in garlic) was outstanding and their margaritas are outstanding. Service is great. Waiters are very friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended albeit a little more expensive than other restaurants. Note: Share the shrimp fajitas... more

At the new location, the food is the same as always. Pretty good. This place is owned by a family that has been around for a long time - they're not about to change the food or service. Some say the prices have gone up. I don't pay much attention. Whatever it is they charge me, it's reasonable. Unfortunately, after... more

Unfortunately this restaurant is not as good as it used to be. The food is generally not bad, however it has gotten much more expensive and for the price there are many better options on the island. The only reason to go now is for the sauce they serve with their chips. I used to stop here every time we... more

This was our 4th trip to Cozumel in the last 3 years. We had tried La Choza in the past and it was OK, so we thought we’d give it a try again. To our huge surprise, the prices have skyrocketed and the menu has changed. Their ceviche is the most expensive I’ve seen on the island and they don’t... more
