Dakota is now closed. Not sure if it's being renovated or will even open again under the same name. Hopefully the big blue dumpster outside gets moved soon.
There's not a lot to say about this one. The food is completely average, the price to quality ratio is grim and the place always smells pretty bad. It's not the worst place to go to if it's all you can find but I can't imagine choosing to go here over the many other nearby options.
The food was cheap and very poorly presented. You'd get better food, and presentation, in a fast food joint — no joke. On top of that the food was tasteless. And the worst part was the bill. I don't mind to pay for good food, but this was nowhere near good food. This restaurant goes to show it’s best to... More
Our first night in Calgary and we came accross this Bar. Great outside area, but empty inside even for 8.00pm on a friday. Staff were happy to share a joke (Grasshopper Beer was only made from 40% grasshopper legs!), and the food order came reasonably quickly. It had a sports bar feel, but even though the Olympics was available, they... More
Had food during Stampede, 2012. Absolute rip-off. Food was poor. Chili in bread bowl was like canned chili and bread was soggy. Nothing else on the plate to even dress it up a bit. Served like slop. Waited forever for the food. Asked for a little hot sauce and got charged a dollar for it. Server was exceptionally rude and... More
We had an amazing Girls Nite Out at Dakota's last night. I thought I would read the reviews before I headed over there, wasn't too happy to hear others didn't enjoy their time but we sure did. Our waitress, Taryn, was awesome, we had her full attention. Our group started with 6 but we grew to 8 and she explained... More
We went here on a recent trip to Calgary. It is located on the Stephen Street pedestrian mall. The decor is ok. The food is ok, but the service was poor. We were visiting the Glenbow Museum, and we stepped out to eat lunch in the surrounding neighborhood. We didn't want lunch to take a long time, so we could... More
I promise myself every time I go: this time will be the last time I go, but here I am again, going for a colleagues' birthday party. This experience was so terrible you'd have to pay me a lot of money to try their "food" ever again. And I won't be polite next time, people need to stop going to... More
