Mothers Day meal with my wife and another couple. Food was alright. My wife had the chicken and I had the striploin. The service was VERY SLOW. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get fed and out of there. The place was very busy but it is small so there were not that many patrons there to warrant the... More

Ordered chicken and lamb. We were the only ones there and we were told that it will take about half an hour till we'll be served. It took an HOUR before we got the food.Food and wine definitely OVERPRICED, average service, cramped space. We came dressed up ( it's what they ask for on the website) and two young couples... More

This restaurant has great food and we enjoyed the quaint atmosphere. Reservations are required as they only have 2 seating an evening. But what a treat and it didn't feel rushed to get us out the door for the next guests.

I have read many good reviews, maybe I was there on an off day, but to me it was just OK. The place is small and I felt cramped. Very crowded. Not a very romantic spot. The food was fine, but the presentation left much to be desired. Our plates looked rushed and thrown together. On the bright side, the... More

The food was incredible - inspired, tasty and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is nice, the servers are great, the location is unique. But the food is amazing. It is different every time we come, but always so good. The portions are just the right size to leave you full but not stuffed. We tried the pork belly and the beet... More

There's is something about nice restaurants in Edmonton; they are not outwardly fancy, patrons are almost always moderately dressed, and the experience and the food leaves you feeling that much better about quality of life. Red Ox Inn is one of those places. Yes, it is yummy. Staff have worked there for years, the wine menu us very good, and... More

Back for Visit 2. Tonight, it's real bay scallops, only 2, wrapped in crisp veggie/'tater threads -- with hot rich cream of cauliflower potion poured over the herbed scallops. Such subtle spicings, such fresh scallops: we almost wept. One ordered pork loin, local, lean, huge, in local bacon, roasted and finished on the barbecue. Two ordered Alaskan Black Cod. Belgian... My husband and I took some friends to Red Ox recently and it was outstanding. I tried the new pork belly for an appetizer and it was incredibly tasty. I didn't think it was possible to beat the old pork belly, but they did it. I tried the new short rib dish for my entree and it was fabulous. I... More

I never knew soup could be that good. The lamb and duck were excellent. They are undergoing some menu changes, but all the changes have been for the better.

I was really excited to try this place out after reading all the reviews. My boyfriend ordered the soup to start and there were two scallops in the soup and it was very much like dishwater. I had the salmon to start and was disappointed in how tiny the portion was. We went on a Friday night and the place... More
