Just meh. After hearing such good things about this restaurant we were really looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately, the service was pretentious, condescending and simply, well, sucked. We were basically ignored until we flagged a server down, and then we would wait... and wait... and wait for our request. Want salt and pepper? Well, you won't find it on... More

We had the fixed price menu which was $48 each plus taxes and 18% tip. Wine was extra. We both enjoyed our courses (3), but service was slow and kind of indifferent although it seemed like there was enough staff for the number of diners.

Lucky timing found us at the Raincity Grill nearing sunset on English Bay. We chose to sit outside on the deck to see the sunset. As the sun went down it got cold out there so I told the hostess and she turned on the above head heater and offered a blanket! It was perfect! And the food was good... More

Raincity Grill is right on English Bay, so if you get the right table inside, or sit on the patio you get a great view of the water and the passing parade along Denman Street. They have one of the best wine lists in the city, and good food to match.

We hadn't booked and were lucky to get a table for two in this sought after restaurant, the perfect place to see the sun set over English Bay. However, we were disappointed to discover that, despite the restaurant advertising fish as a mian feature, there was llittle fish on the menu, mostly meat dishes being offered. The meal turned out... Raincity is part of the new direction in smart restaurants--promoting local and sustainable foods and wines on their menus. We appreciated their creativity, the good service, their willingness to work us in (they were packed). I ordered a rather simple vegetarian dish, a memorable pasta with lovely mushrooms and cheese--which proved to be just right for the moment. Wines were... More

Had a tasting menu with my wife in May. Food was nice, but nothing (apart from the soup and the dessert) blew our minds. Mushroom and egg dish was really heavy and too earthy. My wife's trout had little flavour. Had a lot of heavy ingredients in a 8 course meal (mushroom, quinoa, lentils, mash potatoes, etc.). I have been... More
