When you go in the Bengal Lounge it is reminiscent of Sean Connery's hangout in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I miss the striking red Indian garb that the servers used to wear. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing at the Bengal Lounge after a busy day of shopping and site seeing. The appetizers were delicious and the drinks were YUMMY! The Empress Hotel is so lovely! Must try The Empress 1908 and the Bengal Tiger.

We enjoyed a cocktail here on a rainy day in Victoria. The drink menu is elegant and the grapefruit Cosmo was great. The setting is lovely and the service was professional. While many enjoy tea at the Empress, we found the Bengal Lounge to be a nice experience on a rainy afternoon.

If you are a curry lover and wish to dine in elegant surroundings, the Bengal Lounge cannot be beat. The curry buffet is well balanced with a good representation of East Indian flavours and foods. Phone ahead for reservations as this buffet can get busy!
