Pick a half dozen different dishes and take home a doggy bag ........... it will taste even better the next day if that sounds plausible
I went for lunch on a very rainy day. They have a daily lunch buffet. It looked good, but overall taste was too sweet. Instead of spicy, I found everything sugary. It took a while to get a drink and utensils, but it could have been really busy. Overall I would not go back.
We had seen the restaurant while out walking in downtown St. John's. It is hard to tell how many people are inside when you are standing on the sidewalk because the restaurant is up a few steps but it had been well reviewed on this site, so we booked a reservation for Thursday Sept 10th. We arrived at 6:30 (which... More
Family- run restaurant has been in St. John's for 20 years and it only gets better! There are many new restaurants mentioned in Trip Advisor. They may have good food, but they don't have the kind of service you will get here. We went to Basho a couple of times and they were full (as was India Gate) but we... More
Great Indian food, as good as I've had anywhere. We ate there twice. The dinner was outstanding. At lunch they have a buffet that was good, but not quite as good as dinner. Seemed a little pricey, but then every in Newfoundland seemed a bit pricey.
I love this place. The food is excellent, and by far the best Indian food that I have had. Both the atmosphere and the service where great. The price was a little high, but you get what you pay for in this case. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Excellent, truly excellent. The dishes were simply perfect and the portions large. The staff were excellent. The music was a bit loud for me bringggggggggg bringgggggggggggg Indianmusic has never done it for me but I asked andthey kindly turned it down
On a very wet Friday night, 4 of us went for dinner. The atmosphere is lovely. It felt warm & relaxing inside! The food was spectacular! The service was amazing! Will definitely be going back again! Only downside is parking. There is very limited street parking. Would advise taking a taxi if wet.
I have eaten there for many years. The owner is gracious and polite. It is tastefully decorated. Quality is consistent with Madhu's in England which is supposedly one of the finest outside of India. Service is always fast. Food is always excellent. Like what else is there to say.
Excellent Indian food, but a bit pricey.
