My husband and I are traveling on NS for two weeks and this is the FIRST place that had his Jameson's Irish whiskey...and my Goldschlager too! Heard some fine fiddling and ate some good pub chow ...service was good too. Best place in Sydney I would wager.

I phoned ahead to check that our 17 yr old was allowed in with us. Luckily there is no problem when dining downstairs or before 9:30 pm upstairs. The mussels were tasty and a generous size. Everything else on this causal menu was very good but the seafood dishes such as the seafood chowder stood out for our group of... More

My husband and I stayed at Spanish Bay Inn and this pub is next door. We tried it our first night because of location, ended up back there on our next night. Great young staff and the food was good. It appeared to be a little formal on the main level, but very much pub upstairs. We enjoyed it.

We stopped in because we wanted a cold Alexander Keith's on our way to a show, and we were very pleased we did. I had the mussels as well, and I was surprised at how fast we were served because the place was quite crowded. Really a great place, though it can get a bit loud at peak times. The... More

Great little spot. Biscuits to die for. Has Wi-fi!! Lovely little respite after walking around Sydney and before getting back on the ship. Big Spruce IPA very good - and organic!

I got the Chicken Coconut Stir Fry and it was very tasty. JUst a little bit of heat to spice it up a little. I'm not a huge fan of onions so I had a job picking them all out, but once they were gone the dish was excellent! WIll return, probably to try something new.

Delicious brunch food (creative, well executed and hearty portions), friendly service (she offered us samples of the new beers!), and absolutely gorgeous interior. I felt like I was in a big gorgeous house that I wanted to go explore. Carried some favourite microbrews on tap. Bonus: view of the water!

We are considering having our wedding catered by Governor's Pub, having heard great reviews, so we thought it would be a good idea to check out to get an idea of what we might be getting into. French fries were delicious and the atmosphere was very cool! My club house sandwich was soggy and falling apart from so much mayo... More
