I loved my "late dinner" experience at Rundles, and I relished my "pre-theatre" dining experience at Sophisto-Bistro. The bistro is Rundles' casual dining room located behind their main, formal dining room. The bistro menu was nicely organized, and I noticed that they have less desserts than the front room; apps and mains in the bistro feature creative home-away-from-home dishes, like... More

Comparisons are inevitable with Rundles, a restaurant with a long-standing impeccable fine dining reputation, with prices to match, sharing the same building, and likely the same kitchen. The atmosphere at Sophisto-Bistro, a small intimate space, is more relaxed, but the menu and cooking leave nothing to be desired, and the prices are easily justified. Our party had good things to... Rundle's Bistro or Sophisto-Bistro is a lovely restaurant with delicious food (for the most part). Service was incomparable-my meal was delicious-the heirloom tomato salad and shortribs recommended by the waiter without hesitation over my other consideration of the hangar steak. My dining companion had the crabmeat which he felt was lacking and the Pickerel which was tasty. We skipped dessert... More

Sophisto is a pleasant place to spend some time. It is part and parcel of Rundles so the space is sophisticated-modern although a bit chilly. The menue is seperate from Rundles, limited , prix fix and relatively less costly. Still the meal cost a pretty penny! We had Avacado and crab as one appetizer and crab bisque as the other.... More

We've had excellent meals at Rundles in the past, so we decided to try the Bistro. We were seated after the pre-theater crowd, as we had been to theater in the afternoon and had the evening free. We ordered a bottle of the house red. It was vinegary, spoiled, and we sent it back and ordered a bottle off of... More

Every dish we had was fantastic. If your are a foodie this is the place you should go. The service was good, the food was exquisite, it would rate high even in a high end city restaurant market. It's pricey for sure, but if you want fantastic food food and service in Stratford this is the place.

The wonderful juxtaposition of shrimp and pork belly. Great seed bread. Love the whimsical covers on the entrees

Having noted some of the reviews earlier this month complaining of poor service I was a bit apprehensive about trying the Bistro. However the owners obliviously pay attention to Trip Advisor because the service was very personable attentive and efficient. The food was sublime. I started with the dungeness crab which was beautifully presented and delicately flavored. I then had... More

As a Stratford resident for the last 7 years, it is without any doubt (but not without some risk of bodily harm) that I say Chef Neil Baxter is by far the best chef in town. He admirably continues to explore new techniques and trends at many of the world's best restaurants in the off-season which are reflected in menu... More

We've always been impressed with the food at Rundles. For June lunch reservations, we were told that the Bistro menu was being served. I'm still not sure how the two restaurants differ or when reservations at the more reasonably-priced Bistro are available. Bistro lunch is priced at approximately $38 for two courses and $49 for three. In any case, four... More
