Partner and I ended up here completely by chance on New Years Eve. We had a great dinner and it turned into a very special evening. We had the wine tasting menu and it's really hard to find fault. The food was excellent , wines well matched, service was outstanding relaxed but very informative and the ambience despite the NYE... More

Very cozy restaurant in the middle of Old Montreal. Serves Spanish/French cuisine, tapas style. The duck salad and scallops with cabbage were absolutely fantastic. Wine pairings suggested by the server were bang on. I would definitely return! More

I went to this restaurant with about 12 people on Jan 28th. First let me say it is a beautiful restaurant. The decor was outstanding and the atmosphere was great. I'm not sure I understand the positive reviews for the food. In my opinion, and several others that were there with me, the food was OK but not spectacular. For... More

Loved, loved, loved our dinner here and you must go, go, go!! After reading the reviews on this place my boyfriend made reservations for a Saturday night. He called and left a message requesting a time and received a call back promptly confirming our reservation. Good thing he did because the place was packed and I don't think we would... More

Make sure to make a reservation. This little place in Old Montreal has an amazing wine list and unbelievable tapas. Try the "Mountain and Sea", the Salmon and the Scallops. Food presentation is beautiful, quality is top notch. It was an amazing experience. More

We loved this place! From the cozy interior with stone walls, antique accents, and warm low lighting, to absolutely every dish we tried, I can't rave more about this resto. The service was great ... unpretentious, warm, relaxed. Just what you want, like dining at a friend's place. The food was well presented, but not overly chic. The tastes were... More

Visited:January 2012 Stars: We would give it 3.5 stars if possible Restaurant atmosphere/ decor: simply sublime -, a lot of wood, exposed stone walls, candles- makes for a very cozy and romantic setting. Tapas style restaurant with smaller portions, but perfect for a couple. Able to try quite a few dishes without overeating. Food: Seared scallops in apple cider: Best... More

We loved everything about Bocata: atmosphere, food, drinks, service. Good, creative cocktails- not the frilly, sugary stuff, but good mix-from-the-hip mixology was going on.... Don't hesitate to make a reservation, just do it. We got lucky as a walk-in at 6:30pm on a Satruday night. The Maitre De was a bit stiff "...as long as you're out by 9pm, we... More

We went to Montreal just for a night and decided to go to Bocata as it was #3 on tripadvisor. We called for reservations (a must!) and were told that they had 2 servings, one at 7/7:30 (although the restaurant opens earlier than that) and one at 9:30 and that if we decided to seat at the earlier seating, dinner... I am currently in Montreal on business, and just returned to the hotel. This restaurant is so amazing that it deemed an immediate comment. I had the Chorizo Grilled Cheese, and the Filet Mignon, and both dishes were absolutely fabulous. I can tell you I'll be going back tomorrow night for the same thing! Great service as well! More
