I had visited Chez L'Epicier previously but my husband had not so it was enjoyable to be able to take him for dinner on this trip. The restaurant is still excellent in all respects. The food was inventive and very well prepared. The service was excellent also, not rushed and very attentive. The dining rooms respect the old character of... More

We went to this fine restaurant for a late dinner the day after our wedding in Old Montreal. Everything was perfect. Great service. The food was simply incredible and the presentation was fantastic. Very romantic set up.

In Montreal for business by myself, I chose Chez L'Epicier as I walked past it. Dining alone is always a test for a restaurant - do they hide me in the corner, or serve me well. As a frequent business traveller, I have dined at numerous restaurants in many cities alone. Chez L'Epicier did not disappoint. Service was excellent, very... More

Great food, well presented. Above average list of wines by the glass. The standard wine list had some gems, not usually found on standard wine lists( ours was a red Jura- Arbois). When in Quebec Foie Gras is always an option not to be missed and at Chez L'Epicier they incorporated this delicacy in several dishes and you can order a... L'Epicier is the preferred restaurant for my husband and I whenever we visit Montreal. We go several times a year and never miss eating here at least one night. The creativity of the food and the ambiance of the dining room are superb. The amuse-bouche is always a fun little extra treat to experience before the meal. Highly recommend.

We spent an enjoyable Saturday evening here, arriving at 7:15 and closing the place down at midnight. We were kept happy the entire time by an innovative 7-course tasting menu with well-judged wine pairings. Highlights included: the impossibly tender duck main course; a foie gras terrine with maple ham, brilliantly partnered with a baked bean puree; an appetiser of arctic... More

Great food and atmosphere, easy to get to and impeccable service. True that they could offer more wines in lower prices ranges, but the bottle we had was excellent. We were warned that it was one of Montral's best restaurants and cannot dispute this.

A wonderful discovery not far from where we were staying. Had no expectations, and was recommended by our hotel - hotel recommendations in my experience are always hit or miss. This was a hit. We arrived with our three tired kids a little late and was wonderfully surprised by the decor and seating arrangements walking in. The waiter gave us... More

People kept telling us to try L'Epicier and we finally did. The food, service, atmosphere and location were all as others described and we loved it. We brought out-of-town guests here and it was a perfect choice. Can't wait to return.

Enjoyed L'Epicer as the service was excellent, the food was well prepared and delicious. My only complaint was the lack of wines in $60-$80 price range. It was odd that the cheapest wine was $45.00, jumped to a few bottles at $60-$70 and then the rest of the choices were in upper $100. range. True it is an excellent restaurant... More
