Found this on TA App for the iPhone while partner was driving through downtown to a destination on the Northeast side of the city. Rated very well and when we got there we immediately felt like this was going to be a great restaurant, decor was very cool a mix of the nouveau and the old original architecture and brick... More

We had the Tasting Menu, and it was well worth the steep price. There were about 8 courses, and each (except one) came with a matched wine. The food was excellent - small portions of octopus, scallops, duck breast, buffalo and more. The highlight was a very small but amazing foie gras. The service was fantastic - our waiter clearly... My forever man and I found this restaurant during an afternoon walk in Le Vieux Montreal just a few days ago. He was craving foie gras and I was craving scallops, 2 items not hard to find in Montreal restaurants. But, for some reason, the description on the menu outside L'Autre Version showed a unique presentation of these foods that... More

One of the few decent restaurants open on a Monday lunchtime. The two course table d'hote is excellent value, with an imaginative ever-changing menu. Less convinced by the puddings. But overall a delightfully well run , efficient and pleasant eating place in the Old Town.

We attended this restaurant on March 2nd 2013. We were very disapointed with the quality and quantity of the food. To be honest the entrée of Octopus was excellent and the entrée of beets and goat cheese was quite good. The main dish of beef was returned by 2 of our group as it was dry and overcooked. To their... We loved the place, people were very nice and we had a good service. The food was delicious and we have taken the wine pairing, witch complete very well the supper. We were absolutely amazed. For people who loves foie Gras, there Seared foie Gras, sweet potato and cardamom cake, almond and caramelized onion purée, sea-buckthorn berry jam is a... More

Imaginative menu, superb execution, great wine list, great location ... L'Autre Version is my favorite place to take people, whether with personal friends or business visitors, to showcase modern Montreal.

We spent New Year's Eve here, and had the most amazing 8-course dinner with excellent service. Unlike many tasting menus, this one was inventive, substantial and delicious. The chef uses very interesting ingredients that we hadn't heard of before (ps. we live in New York City and love the restaurant scene, so consider ourselves well-versed) like different types of berries... If you are there for the ambiance, MAYBE it's the place to be, but if you are there for the food, better be ready to go somewhere else afterwards to finish your meal... Portions were ridiculously small in over-sized plates... had the taste been exquisite it would have compensated to the dwarfed portions and over-sized prices, but it didn't even... More
