If passing, worth a visit to enjoy a pint or cocktail. Very busy on our visit. Near other shops and eating locations.
This place was a complete disappointment. It is just round the corner from our hotel and the main shoppince centre in Montreal. This makes the location excellent. They accept children until 8pm on the terrace. As with Irish pubs in every city in the world, they serve beer, burgers, sandwiches and stews. We were exhausted after a days sightseeing and... More
I really don't like drinking Guinness when I'm away from Ireland. You can find Irish pubs anywhere in the world - from Krakow to Hiroshima - but while they've been busy stealing Ireland road signs and whatever else they can toss up on the walls, the gargle is all that matters at the end of the day - or evening.... Bad service. We were almost alone in the place while two waitresses chatted endlessly and refused to serve us. We left, but not before noticing an interesting piece of politics. The menu falsely translates "steak and kidney pie" as "tourtière irlandaise", but it is neither Irish nor tourtière. Just their way of sucking up to the anti-English sentiment, I guess.
I went to Hurleys because it was close to my hotel. I'm so glad I did. I travel alone so always sit at the bar when I go out because its easier to meet people. No exception here. Made many new friends, some locals, some fellow travelers. I spent a couple of lovely hours laughing and sharing stories over beers.... More
There's just something about Hurley's that I love so much. It's the only pub in Montreal that has a true authentic feel. Everything from the decor, the food, to the smell of the place. They poor a smooth Guinness and serve it at a perfectly cold temperature. Everytime I go to get something to eat, I either order their fish... More
Only went for drinks and music with a few friends! The space is is beautiful, stone walls, but very warm feeling. Servers are very good, professional, and welcoming. Food looked great coming out, whiskey selection is outstanding and the Vibe in the place is very upbeat. Hurley's is a standout among the downtown Bars and I think the client base... More
While attending a conference in Montreal I frequented Hurley's Irish Pub twice. First was for drinks and business discussion late in the afternoon. Second was a return visit the next evening for a casual dinner with my wife. We were told by others who live in Montreal that Hurley's is well liked by locals and younger people, so we were... More
