I like that I can eat and with in minutes be on the mountain to ski.Driftwood is owned and ran by the owners. it is located in the heavenly village center.
My wife and I were not thrilled with the breakfast choices at our hotel, so we took a stroll down the street and came across the Driftwood. Although breakfast food is usually pretty standard and mundane, the Driftwood had some great "tweaks" on old tried and true recipes. My wife thorougly loved the herb sauce that came on her eggs... Arrived at 8:30 a.m. on a Friday, still lots of seating. The servers were sweet and friendly; I got a cup of good coffee immediately after being seated. (No attitude about my being a lone woman, which I'm sensitive to.) Ordered the chicken-fried steak, which was the best I've ever had . . . Lots of spicy flavor in the... More
My wife and I went here for breakfast on our recent trip to Lake Tahoe. They have fairly standard options for breakfast along with some creative specialties. Both of our dishes were pretty good - nothing exceptional but no complaints. The servers were nice and we were seated right away, though I'd recommend being there early (before 8:30) on the... More
One of favorite spots for breakfast in South Lake Tahoe. Fresh food. Greatlocation within walking to several hotels/motels and shops.. Good service and selection.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The place isn't that large so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table on busy days....but I... More
We had a late lunch here that was great. My wife had the veggie omelet and I had the home made clam chowder and meat omelet-- both were great. Service was very good and it seeded busy all the time we were here. Would go here again.
A very friendly place to grab breakfast in S. Tahoe. Go early or be prepared to wait unless you are willing to sit at the counter. Great service and average prices. Unfortunately, the food is really average as well, therefore I couldn't give it more than 3 stars.
The Driftwood is a popular spot in Heavenly Village, serving breakfast and lunch. When you arrive, you are welcomed to a bright, bustling, comfortable dining room, decorated with a nautical theme by someone who clearly misses the ocean and had a lot of tacky seashore knickknacks lying around (just enough to be cute). The wait staff is high-energy, a friendly... More
