Fantastic coffee in an amazing location. I am not going to say please go there, as it is popular enough and the size is limited.
There can be few more diverting ways to pass an hour than sitting by Bathampton Bridge in brilliant sunshine reading the paper whilst drinking coffee. By sheer serendipity I chanced on this lovelty coffee barge whilst waiting to watch rugby on the local playing fields. I had an hour to kill and elected to have a quick walk around the... More
What a gorgeous place. On a beautiful, hot, blue sky day you cant beat it. Henny bakes the best Victoria sponge wodged together with fresh cream....delicious. Will definitely be back. Fantastic value too.
This lovely little cafe serves by far the best coffee and cakes in Bath. Fresh, tasty cakes and coffee served hot with no bitter aftertaste. Well worth going out of your way to experience this little gem of a place. Seating is available inside and outside and it is a lovely opportunity to watch the walkers and cyclists go by... More
A great experience - the novelty of the setting (afloat in the village), the people (Bath eccentrics, canal dwellers, local residents, schoolkids and parents after 3.15pm, passing walkers and cyclists). You can sit in the barge which is nicely done out, or on the canalside or under a tree. Heni has owned the business for 3 years and has a... More

We have been walking past the Cafe on the Barge for many years now and all I can say is I wish we'd stopped in sooner! Heni is delightful, her cakes are the best for miles around and the coffee is excellent. There are tables both indoors and outdoors, and the ones on the towpath have a lovely view. Although... More
Having already been drowned in a thunderstorm, what a delight to be able to stop at the Cafe on the Barge for a very enjoyable drink. We were welcomed in with open arms and were soon joining in the conversation with the other customers and Henni herself, a bubbly host. We had a great time and will definitely be back... More
Wow, what a wonderful sanctuary on the Kennet and Avon Canal. The Cafe on the Barge has by far the best coffee in Bath served in very generous cups with the most delicious and varied selection of homemade cakes and paninis. All this made and served by Henni, a cheerful, vibrant and sunny owner who makes this a favourite spot... More
