We visited as part of my 40th birthday tour of Scotland and the Lake District, and will be travelling the 400 miles to eat there again. It was fantastic, but... I would recommend that you are careful with the menu as I had 2 rich courses which is not the fault of the restaurant, but mine. Next time I will... More

5 times we've eaten in Tom's place and each time was at least as good as the last. So, there we have total consistency - what's not to love about that along with everything else. This is top-flight cooking from a kitchen that cares about food, quality, freshness and yes, value. I consider Tom's prices, given the quality and skill... More

Glorious meal with each dish highlighting the freshest local ingredients. Obvious time, thought, and heart in each dish. After our meal, to free up our table , we were "invited" to take our after dinner drinks in the relaxed bar. Bartender very knowledgable and enthusiastically helped us choose a sampling of scotch. Great service. Our hotel had a problem and... More

Overall, a truly wonderful experience which I would recommend for everyone. The atmosphere was superb. It was excellent to be able to see the chefs at work, including the great man himself. The staff were both knowledgeable and helpful, while remaining unobtrusive, allowing us to savour a personal experience. The food served was beautiful, both in its quality and in... More

14.05.13 - Our first visit to The Kitchin Sometimes - it's just not ALL ABOUT THE FOOD! As the title reviews - the food was excellent - no less than we would have expected! However as the title also reveals WE WILL NOT BE BACK! There are many fabulous restaurants in and around Edinburgh so competition for repeat custom should... More

We were staying in Edinburgh so got a taxi out to Leith only £8 each way. The restaurant blends in to the waterfront surroundings, but is bigger than you imagine and very nicely furnished. We had a pre-meal drink in the 'conservatory' on the front and had a chat and a photo with Tom. We selected the Chef's Land and... More

Lunched here on Friday with my son. We had the set lunch menu and also the matching wines. Food was fantastic. Attentive service with knowledgeable waiting staff. Very relaxed atmosphere too for a michelin star restaurant. Would return to this place.

My wife and I had a fabulous dinner at the Kitchin in March. The welcome and service were excellent with very attentive staff offering advice on both food and wine.. We had the 6-course Tasting Menu and Wine Package and although it cost more than our first holiday abroad it was worth every penny. We have booked lunch for our... More
