Bar food is excellent with plenty of choice, served promptly and with a smile. A plus for me is that wine was served by the glass from large bottles and not those horrible quarter bottles which have become so common in a lot of places.

In ennis for a night and was recommended this pub by a local. Very easy to find in the centre of town. The bar staff were helpful and got us a table post haste on what was a busy night for them. Orders were taken promply and dinner arrived quickly. Presentation was good, taste excellent. Better than average pub quality.... More

We have been in Ennis 4 days/nights and have eaten here 4 times! Yes, it is convenient to our Old Ground hotel but it is also GOOD! The service is incredibly fast (do not order food until you are ready to eat!), friendly, and efficient. The food is very good and plentiful. We'd be there again tonight but we ate... More

We loved the food and the atmosphere along with wonderful traditional Irish music! We got there just at closing for the kitchen, but the chef let us order...ate Sausage with Black Pudding and Mash...delicious!

We like the atmosphere in the Poet's Corner, so we go there occasionally. My partner likes it more than I do, because there's very little there that's vegan-friendly. I hope that one day soon restaurants will realize that the addition of just a single vegan option will attract vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike, and, if tasty, will keep us coming... More

Took time out from Christmas shopping with my mother for a relaxing toastie & coffee. The sandwich was fine bit the price seemed steep. The lunchtime meal would have been cheaper if that had been an option but as it was a Sunday it wasnt. The food was delivered quickly despite the bar being quite busy so that was definetly... More

Visited The Poets Corner recently after it was recommended to me by a friend. My lamb cutlets were divine and cooked to perfection! I had 3 young kids with me and they had toasted specials which they enjoyed immensely. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the atmosphere was lovely. A real treat!

We stayed in the Old Ground last weekend and this pub was always thronged with happy people. We just had soup at the bar at lunchtime as we were still well filled after delicious breakfasts! The soup - vegetable- was excellent and served with some of the gorgeous treacle bread made on the premises. Very fast and friendly service suited... More
