Was there yesterday evening for a social event after a tournament. The food is very tasty and good value, great range of beers, which are also good. The staff however are very rude. Firstly, it takes too long to get served, something I find generally when I am in Munich. The staff push past the clientele, shouting at them for... More

Wagamama on steroids! A huge communal eating experience - Bavarian style! A traditional, cavernous, bustling, noisy brew house where you sit at whichever table has free seats! Solid, stodgy, but good Bavarian dishes accompanied by the brewer's own beer. Couldn't be better! Not the most romantic of places, but great for people watching and enjoying the hectic atmosphere. A must... More

Just walk in and take the first seat. They squeeze everyone in the benches. Frequented by locals, this place has atmosphere! A real Bavaria beer hall. The servers can handle the steins of beer. Ask for an English menu if you don't understand the German. The plate with duck, pork, chicken, dumplings and cabbage was quite good for under 12 euros. Wait until... More

We ate here twice during out five day stay in Munich as our hotel was across the road and this restaurant is open till late. It's such a great find, the staff are really lovely. The first waiter we had was very helpful, he recommended traditional Bavarian meals he thought I should try and picked a beer for us to... More

We had a fantastic dinner here. The staff and service were fantastic, the food was outstanding and the beer was yummy. Avoid the beer halls in the middle of town which are overpriced and the food is bland and average. Take a walk out near the main train station. You'll never regret it!

I really enjoyed my meal here but I really loved the beer. I good get used to drinking the german beer very quickly. The atmosphere is really great as the seating is arranged so people will ineract with each other, perfect if someone was travelling on there own. It will be my first port of call if I return to... Sure, if you;re a tourist you have to go to HB and Lowenbrau, but if you want a calmer, less touristy experience, Augustiner is the place. Great Bavarian atmosphere and food. Come before noon for Weisswurst and pretzels - a true Bavarian breakfast with a half liter of lager! I come here whenever I can get to Munich and miss... More

It has a restaurant to the left and a beer keller to the right. Both very busy on a Saturday night. We went in the Restaurant. Staff were very friendly. I had the classic dish with pork knuckle, roast pork, duck and sausage with a potato dumpling and red cabbage. Not keen on the dumpling but the rest was great.... More

Such a sweet lady who brought us great red kraut and meats. (The potato salad is the cold one- not the warm my mother makes!) My kids enjoyed the spaetzle and apple juice. This is the place to eat rather than the Hofbrauhaus, the clientele is less diverse i.e. less tourists.
