Description: The Gelonch restaurant is found in the 'enlargement' area of Barcelona, "ensanche". The Catalan chef, Robert Gelonch, takes advantage of his experience at restaurants such as "El Bulli" and "Gaig", and is constantly discovering new tastes and textures. Gelonch's novel cuisine blends unique and elaborate combinations, and makes use of top quality ingredients. Filled with wholesome fare, the menu has a diverse tapas feel. The Gelonch restaurant offers a modern yet cosy ambience, where bright colours and geometric shapes offer a creative edge. The restaurant is divided into 2 levels, with access to the upper level provided by a jazzy illuminated staircase. The wine cellar is found on the lower level, which boasts more than 90 varieties of local and international wines. Gelonch offers a quaint retreat in Barcelona, ready to delight the palates of all who visit.

What a wonderful eatery. We opted for the 16 course taster and loved every mouthful of it. The staff were super nice and explained every course in great detail. Couldn't recommend it highly enough

Overall, the 10 course menu was excellent with some fantastic courses in between with combination you probably have never had before. Personal and friendly service in a beautiful restaurant made this evening a smashing success.

Booked well in advance due to some excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. We had the 10 course taster menu with accompanying wines. The food was beautifully cooked and thought through with Shitakee Broth and Codfish Tripe standing out as particular favorites. The wines complemented the dishes wonderfully and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended.

At first my spouse and I were going to order some a la carte tapes, but then opted for the 10 course tasting and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent.

There are few words that can describe how fantastic this restaurant is. The decor an interior is not why you come here, but it is very nice modern minimalistic style. The waiter is probably the best I've had! The food is like a walk through the jungle with a guide that finds every kind of exciting flower, tree and animal,... More

We had the "small" 10-course tasting menu that was a real treat. The macrobiotic trend seems to be pretty big in gourmet Spanish cuisine, so you could tell that an enormous amount of labor went into creating each dish. Our favorites were the black turnip with veal marrow and the beet gnocchi. The carrot - orange nitro "popcorn" was a... More

Organized as a birthday treat on my recent Barcelona escapade, Gelonch did not fail to impress us. A slick environment coupled with beautifully designed dishes full of explosive flavors and textures. We went with the 10 dish testing menu and Thank god for that!! Apart of one dish that it wasn't to my liking, I had nine more to rave... More

Hate to do this, but when I feel I've been hoodwinked I have to say it like it is. First of all, the restaurant atmosphere reminded of walking up to a third rate hotel. The lighting was so garish. Walking in there was a look of "unfinished" decor. We were shuttled upstairs, thankfully, since a group of immature diners came... More
