dedicated and passionate, they work out of his grandfather's house serving creative local cuisine that works in an enclosed terrace. Very flexible about the fixed price menu or ala carte, and reasonable for the surprisingly high quality of beautifully presented fare that tickles new taste buds with pleasure. Highly recommended, and no doubt the very best 'foodies' will find in... More

Cappun Magru is, as noted in many reviews, more difficult to get to than many restaurants, but entirely worth it! My wife and I ate here last week on our belated honeymoon, and it was one of the most memorable experiences in Italy, and ranks in the top dining experiences I've ever had. Chef Maurizio Bordoni and his wife and... More

Our family of four shared a wonderful 2-week vacation in Italy in August 2012. We visited many areas areas and towns including Cinque Terre, Tuscany, Positano and Rome. We had fantastic meals at wonderful restaurants but as others have stated, this was our absolute favorite meal and restaurant. Without a doubt, visit Cappun Magru in casa di Marin and you... More

This is an effort to get to but again I have to say worth the effort, for what was for us our best meal in Italy. Maybe it's because we are fish lovers, so naturally three courses all having fish will always win us over! We had the tasting plates which consisting of an entree, first and second course then... I have to get this out of the way -- I own an Italian travel company and hunting down great food is what i do for a living. I also lived in Italy for a number of years and have eaten many great meals, and some real losers too. From that prospective I'd like to give a fair assessment of... More

my husband and I recently enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Cappun Magru. We decided to eat here based on TA reviews, and we are glad we made that choice! It was a bit hard to locate the restaurant since it is located in a town above Manarola (not Riomaggiore) in a town called Groppo. You should call since there is... More

If you enjoy food and sampling true local fare this is the place to go when in the Cinque Terre (manarola) area. So happy that we when here as the sample menu we had was superb, tasty and a very special meal that we will always remember.

For those of us who do not have dietary restrictions, this is a fantastic restaurant, with beautifully presented meals, and innovative high quality food. We made the mistake of not alerting the host that two of our children are vegans, which upset the host (she states that if we give advance notice, they are able to plan a great vegan... More

The restaurant is located in the little village of Groppo somewhere in the hills above Manarola. We took the bus to get there and walked to Riomaggiore downhill after the dinner (ca. 50 minutes). The place is cosy, the interior being quite simple. Good view over the hills. We had the dinner menu and everything was very good to eccelent.... More

We saw a wedding couple on a balcony throwing candy down to guests in the street and followed them to Cappun Magru...glad we did! Great Italian fish and pasta to die for with romantic views and ambiance from a movie. Would go back!
