Highly recommended for a quick stop. Cappuccino one of the best I've had since arriving, so good even my wife was tempted into a decaff!
My husband and I discovered this cafe during a visit to Venice in 2010 and loved it then. On our most recent visit, we caught the vaporetto at Rialto Mercato every morning for a week for the trip to Academia, with the sole purpose of having coffee at Bar Da Gino (closed on Sundays). The coffee is consistently good and... More
My sister and I were on a whirlwind trip through Europe this past summer as I endeavoured to show her how to travel and enjoy the world beyond. We were only in Venice for 24 hours. It was a Very hot day, with swarms of tourists everywhere, and little comfortable shade to be found. After trekking through the streets for... More
Note how many 'poor' or 'terrible' reviews there are for this place. I rest my case. A great place for reasonably-priced, normal people's food and drink, especially for the tired traveler around breakfast. *If you are lucky, the blonde 30-something neighbour with her Dauschound/weiner-dog 'Jessica' (see 'world's cutest pup') will be in the line. I am done. The end. btw:... More
Staying as we are in an apartment close by, breakfast at Da Gino seems to be a must. Excellent coffee and pastries. We have also called in a little later in the day for a spritz. Helpful and courteous staff and this place rates a pretty big score on the people watching scale too... always something interesting going on.
This popped up as the closest restaurant to the Accademia Gallery . Located on a busy but picturesque thoroughfare, seating outside good for people watching, but the smokers will be sitting next to you . Service was fine, but food nondescript. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana panini. Uninteresting bread, tough unseasoned barely grilled eggplant, green house tasteless tomato and barely... More
We stayed in an apartment a few doors down from this little bar, and we stopped in every morning during our 7-day stay for their wonderful coffee and breakfast panini's. The staff couldn't have been nicer, always friendly and with smiles on their faces. We'd even stop by in the afternoon for a little sweet something before relaxing before dinner.... More
Found this coffee shop after jumping off Academia water bus stop. Great tasting coffee & good value. Choice to sit outside & people watch too. We even went back later that day.
You should go to try the cappuccino that this guys offer! The quality is the top and the prices are cheap ! The staff is friendly! Go try it
This is a place to visit to understand what lies at the heart of the life of a Venetian neighborhood. Camaraderie and effervescence all around. The coffee, in particular the cappuccino, is unparalleled in Venice. The "tramezzini", white bread lunchtime sandwiches, are delicious and varied. Warmly recommended.
