I had 2 meals here during the week. The waiter very kindly brought me a sample of the meal I had ordered (veal hand with chickpeas) because he thought I might not like it, it was very good. The second time I had sardines which again were good, they also serve side dishes of vegatbles which are excellent and properly... More

We always try to eat here at least once when visiting Madeira. Staff are friendly and helpful, happy to spend time explaining dishes on the menu, asking questions and suggesting wine to go with your meal. The wine shop integrated with the restaurant has an amazing collection of Madeira at better prices than you'll get in downtown Funchal, as well... More

During our recent trip to Funchal we ate at PVP on three evenings. The seafood is consistently good; beautifully cooked and supported by nice vegetables and salads. The peppered prawns were a firm favouraie as a starter and the chocolate mousse is to die for! Wines were good and not too expensive and the service was always helpful and friendly,... More

Nice service, excellent scabbard fish plus madeira wine for a desert; and puncha gratis :-) Besides, the owner of PVP has also a wine shop, with decent prices;

A brilliantly run restaurant and wine cellar. They accommodated amazingly with bespoke vegetarian dishes for my strictly veggie husband, offered fantastic and affordable wine selections for us when eating at the restaurant, and invited us into the cellar when visiting the shop the next day. Brilliant service, fantastic old school charming waiters.

We visit this restaurant regularly when staying in Funchal and are never disappointed. There is a wide choice of food and it's always good whether at lunchtime or evening. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and the service is excellent and nothing seems to be too much trouble for anyone. Nice to see that locals as well as tourists... More

This is about the 5th visit to the same restaurant, over 2 holidays. We were attracted to it in the first place because we saw from afar that there were locals dining there, and a whole famiy was having a celebration in the open area of the place. On the last occasion, I had the dried bacalhau, which came roasted... More

One of a kind in Madeira and Funchal for that fact. Excellent for those sunny days, as it offers a nice enviroment in the outdoors and has also plenty of seatings inside for colder days. Lunches and dinners served. Great quality, rapid service, wide choice from menue, and at lunches every meal can be ordered in half portions, which is... More

We were recommended this resurante by friends in Maderia, and it was a recommendation well founded. We were after a quick and not large meal. The waiter recommended a small steak. The steak turned out to be a not so small sirlion stake much bigger than that usually served in UK. It was cooked exactly as we asked for it... More

One of the best restaurants we went to and a stone's throw from the Pestana Promenade hotel. The food is wonderful and they have a fantastic selection of wines. The service is also excellent and staff very friendly. Good value for money.
