I had naan bread and lamb Vindaloo. Not so hot that they said but very tasty. If you like Nepalese food I can warmly recommend this restaurant. There are very nice and good service always. Food is tasty and not over priced. Location is near the centrum of the city.
Not really anything special if one ever visited India and/or Nepal. The food, as almost always is the case, has been modified to taste "better" for us Europeans. A pity really. It is almost impossible to find authentic Indian/Nepalese cooking.
Not many options for vegans in Helsinki but this was a great Nepalis restaurant. Different menu every day. Remember to mention your diet.
Ask anyone what is typical Indian food. Most will reply - chilli spicy hot food. More seasoned travelers know that South Asia is very diverse. This diversity extends to food. This is a nice little restaurant in the heart of Helsinki.Been here many times and I´ll have to say the food is always very solid and reliable with good service from the staff. It is actually quite small so the ambience is a little intimate and special. Definitely one of the best nepalese restaurants in the heart of Helsinki.
Have on several occasions enjoyed the food there; perhaps my choice of dining hour is unusual, since i never found the place crowded - and it seems to be frequented by local people. As a business traveller who may need to »spice up the day in the Cold Helsinki« this place provide an excellent opportunity to sit down, rest and... More
Himalaya is among the first Nepalese restaurants in Helsinki. It has stayed there a long time and seems to be popular among the local residents and visitors alike. So, it looks like it receives a lot of repeat customers - like me. I normally dine out in Himalaya at least once a summer. It is traditional. The decor is very basic... More
We had Kukhura shashlic, a Thal with four plates and a Chicken Kukhura and it was good all the way. The choice of desserts was Gulab Jamun which consists of milk powder, flour and butter fried and served in a sugar syrup. Extremely sweet and delicato if you like the extreme sweetness after a spicy dinner. I also liked the... More
