We ate here on Sunday night as a group of four work colleagues. The food was spot on I had tikka chicken paneer and Lamb rogan josh. The taste was excellent anfd good value
This is the place to go when all the others are full as they were this November Saturday evening. It’s just a little out of town and you’d be unlikely just to stumble upon it. The decor is impressive – contemporary and bold without being distracting. Housekeeping including the toilets is immaculate – a good sign. The Alishaan’s menu is... More
Very good food, although overpriced in my opinion. Staff could be a little friendlier perhaps. Food presented very nicely and delivered to the table sizzling on a skillet, mmmmm! Nice surroundings and decoration. I would definitely recommend Alishaan if you're looking for a good place to eat in Durham :)
Good choice on menu - recommend chefs specials. All enjoyed our meals, good service and the staff were friendly. Rice portions a little small but we had enough naan and roti to make up for this.
Beautiful food, excellent service, restaurant packed due to Lumiere and every part of our meal(party of 13) was superb. Would have liked a chocolate with our coffee but apart from that all perfect.
We arrived on a busy night but they squeezed us in without a problem. Staff were quite outstandingly pleasant and service faultless. A little expensive and rice dishes were small but the food was very good indeed. A good dining experience.
Went as a group over priced and after complaining come back with a different price but still over priced try to charge £17 for 1 bowl of ice cream. Food very over priced had a lot better for a lot cheaper. Staff helpful at first then don't want to know definitely better.
We are committed aficionados of Le Raaj at Chester Moor and went to Alishaans only to meet up with a visitor who was staying in the centre of Durham. Once there we were warmly greeted by Moz, who had recently decamped from Le Raaj. The décor is clean and pleasant and there is a varied menu which includes both the... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Royal County Hotel in Durham (see separate review) and on the Monday evening, after researching Indian restaurants on Trip Advisor, found Alishaan in the pouring rain. But was it worth the walk ? It sure was. A super place to eat with excellent food and service. A must for all visitors to Durham who... More
