Sadly we only found this restaurant on our last night. The meal was the best of 10 nights of mediocracy. The meat and seafood dishes were beautiful and so was the setting.
We did not enjoy our meal very much, were were not offered/given bread and the meal itself was what would be expected. The prices were a little high considering the meals offered. I think a second visit might hsave been more enjoyable but instead went to a resurant we knew to be satisfactory the next night.
During our visit to Italy in early May, this was, without a doubt, the best eating experience for me. We ate at several restaurants ( Rome, Pompeii, Cinque Terre and a week's worth of meals on a cruise) , several of which I rated, just for fun and further reference, either a 9/10, or 10/10. If there is better than... More
We normally spend some time walking around looking for good places a little off from the immediate choises. Il Fagolo is beautifully situated in ancient archways and by a tiny picturesque piazza. Service is great with a personal touch, food superb and wine lovely. Prices are somewhat up compared to other places we ate, but it's well worth it. I... More
We tend to stick to the same few restaurants in Lerici, sadly one of which has now closed. Looking for a new regular place, we decided to take a visiting friend to Il Fagolo last week on a Thursday night. I attempted to book a reservation and left my details on the voice mail, however no one returned my call.... More
We were in Lerici on May 3-5 and relied on Trip Advisor to find a nice place for dinner. il Fagolo turned out to be one of the best restaurants we ate at in all of Italy. The owner/chef/waitor adds a wonderful ambience to the quaint restaurant. The meals we had were outstanding we all left there very full and... More
This small restaurant hidden away in the ancient walls behind the seafront in the oldest part of Lerici is worth looking for. Away from the beaten track of the passeggiata along the shoreline, it is the pride and joy and passion of its owner and chef. We took his advice and were served giant portions of the roast pork that... More
From the main square of Lerici you can enter by a short street in a small square where the restaurant is located on the entrance opposite corner. Tables are placed in a L shape corridor which is the connection between the square and other small street. It is an excellent restaurant, run by the cook himself, who make the food... More
This restaurant is a gem from all the seafood fare in the whole Italian Riviera. The small restaurant is run by two people, which the owner cooks himself. The specialty is meat and steak. My husband and I had beef steak and veal steak and it proved to be the best meal we had in our 2 weeks in Italy.... More
Tasty anti-pasti, primi, secundi and main courses. The service is very friendly and efficient. We arrived with nine mulit-national members in our party and were seated and served very promptly with excellent recommendations from the owner. All the food, wine and bread were delicious. The pasta was al dente, the seafood was fresh and the steak was tender and juicy.... More
