Gorgoeous atmophere and nice wine selection had us looking forward to a great meal. The cauliflower soup was nice but it went downhill fast. The fish and wagyu were way overdone and the suckling pig had to be sent back as it was literally unedible (you couldnt chew through it). It was hands-down the worst food experience we've ever had.

The food was good but not $300 (for two!) great. Sierra Mar is one of those places where menu items are overly-described using flowery language. Too pretentious! I would say to go for lunch or go sit at the bar and have drinks at dinner time to watch the sunset. My husband had foie-gras that was frozen then shaved. Unique... More

The presentation is great and service is fine, but someone forgot to mention its supposed to taste good. One course was made the chicken sausage from the local supermarket look favorable by comparison. Another course involved something that seriously tasted like styrofoam and was evidently inspired by the trend for supermodels to snack on tissue paper. Desert involved a lemon... More

Had the opportunity of dining again at Sierra Mar which is located on a mountain top on Post Ranch Inn. Having dined here many times before, today we were treated by a fantastic lunch which consisted of three courses. Our meal was "over the top" with each course building on the other to end with some very happy diners. The... More

We eat lunch here a few times a year. This year they have changed things up by having a $40 three course lunch (optional wine pairings) in stead of the usual a la carte. The choices are great (we had Duck Breast Pastrami, a crab salad, a Sand Dab "bouillabaisse" and 2 terrific deserts. The really nice thing about this... More

View was beyond amazing - you're literally on a cliff looking at the ocean. Prix Fixe menu was so good and recommend going outside your comfort zone for a real treat. Liked that even though it was expensive, still felt approachable - much like the overall vibe of Big Sur. Non-guests had to either eat early or late. We made... More

We are currently staying at the post ranch inn and we were extremely disappointed in the restaurant experience. The ambience was nice but the food was well below what we wound have expected for such a high end place. The wait time was ridiculous as well as we ended up waiting almost two and a half hours for our meal.... More

We took our mothers here for a birthday lunch. It was excellent. Great food, Great views. Service could have been a tad more friendly. Overall for $40 a person we were really pleased and impressed.

Just had lunch here with my husband and our 12 year old daughter. They offer a price fixe lunch menu of USD 40 for 3 courses. Yes, that may seem a bit expensive for lunch, but given the view the setting and the quality of the food we found it reasonable. The food was amazing, truly delicious. But the true... More

ambiance was perfect for the occasion. sommelier was very helpful with wine selection. we had the four course menu. everything was good, and the braised, then grilled octopus was outstanding. a very romantic evening, even if too cloudy for a great sunset,
