Nice meal and friendly staff. A little squeezy so not a place for romance perhaps but book because it's busy every night.
Dined upon recommendation and was not disappointed with the food which was tasty and interesting (had Goat stew). Service was slow. Once we had our main we couldn't get the waitress again so didn't bother with dessert and coffee.
We visited Caffe Italia as part of a large group. While the place has atmosphere (to the point of being deafening) and is clearly popular, the food was distinctly average. This is how I imagine Italian food was presented in the UK and US in about 1970, if that makes any sense - everything smothered in cream and cheese, everything... More
The restaurant is owned & staffed by Italians who know their stuff and work as a team. Fast, tasty and delicious peasant / comfort food in generous portions. All fresh seasonal produce. Took some friends who love Italian food and they were impressed and plan on working their way down the comprehensive menu. Awesome! My second visit and I was... More
The owner treated us with indifference as opposed to the warm treatment that he shows to fellow italians. He raised his voice on my friend about a chair that they've placed outside for waiting customers, apparently delaying him in preparing our table. he gave us a table fit for 4 when there was 6 of us. As a result when... More
It was great food but the service was really bad The owner is so full off himself it's quite sad as the food is so yummy
Popped in on Friday without a booking (an impromptu trip to Perth). We were seated next to the door which wasn't great due to the foot traffic going past. The meals more than made up for this. We had rice balls, meatballs and salami/cheese platter to start. All entrees were of a great size and tasted delicious. (we always share... More
Waited 1hour for a seafood pasta that had prawns (shrimps) out of a packet, mussels that were overcooked and sans the clams specified on the menu. No seafood taste at all. But what was more annoying than the pathetic pasta was the lack of an apology from the manager. Won't go back and wouldn't recommend it.
I must have eaten here 20 or more times; it's a great place to bring guests to Perth, and is a very busy, positive environment, with genuine staff and genuine Italian food. Capretto al Forno is a favourite, and the Pizzas are good too. Give the gelato a try; it's made on location. Ciao!
