I've been to quite a lot of Italian restaurants in Italy and elsewhere in Europe, and this is by far the most classy. Everything is very professional, but also informal. The service is excellent. Our very kind Tuscan waitress knew presented a lot of useful information about their specials which wine we should chose etc. This place is good for... More

Finding an Italian restaurant in America is not so easy. I mean, when you read the reviews, most of them are made by American people, so it is difficult for an Italian understand how much the food meets the Italian taste. In this case, luckily we found many reviews written by Italian people. Excellent quality, good mix of tastes and... More

Service could use a little more friendliness. Took clients, prepaid, etc. had to add two at last minute, they seemed pretty put out about it. Food was great, so I'd go back, but with so many other options it would be more out of proximity than choice.

We were seated at our reservation time. Our waiter was knowledgeable but not pushy. It's rare today to go to restaurant with adequate staffing that allows the waitstaff time to spend with customers with questions. A wonderful meal - highly recommend the ravioli.

What can I say...the food (most of it) is EXCELLENT, and they have service to match. Quite honestly, I've been several times, and I can't seem to bring myself to try anything other than the veal ravioli and the tiramisu. My friend decided to go "off script" and try a different pasta, and when the waiter noticed he wasn't pleased,... More

The food at Tosca is wonderful. My husband and I ordered the tasting menu. Usually I avoid tasting menus because I do not like fish or seafood. The waiter stated I could be accommodated very easily and asked me to pick substitutes off the menus that I would rather have. I was not at all disappointed in what I ordered.... More

Pasta and risotto was al dente. The wait staff was great but the manager was snooty. This appears to just be a business restaurant were the appearance of fine dinning is more important than quality.

The best food and exceptional service. Loved our waiter who took the time to help our grandsons with their food selection. Our grandsons have never been to a higher end restaurant before with the type service that is given to their customers. The waiter was very patient and helpful but never was condescending to them.

The food was quite good. Not as good as in Italy or New York, but probably better than any other Italian restaurant in DC. We especially liked the loin of lamb, cooked rare (the waiter strongly recommended medium rare, but my French husband insisted, and the kitchen delivered). Everything was on salty side, but not excessively so. Wine list had... More

We had to be near the Old Post Office for an evening tour of DC[from UK] and after searching TA we struck on Tosca which I have to say was a revelation. We booked in the morning for a 5.30pm slot thinking we would be the only ones there. We were wrong-the restaurant was quite full and the guests were sipping cocktails...
