just back from the Med, all over greece, turkey and italy and decided to pop down for the weekend to DC. We have 2 nieces who live in the area and this restaurant came highly recommended by Ali's entire office . We were staying at the Grand Hyatt and couldnt believe it when we realized how close Zaytinya was. We... More

This place used to be excellent. But like many things its appears to have passed its sell by date. the most recent lunch was a real disappointment. First the space is becoming worn and somewhat grimy. More importantly the great freshness and attention to detail that made the meze here the best in town is gone. Instead flavors are weak,... More

Very nice assortment of Turkish-Greek-Lebanese cuisine, with regional wine, liquor, and beer. Fresh Hummas, wonderful lamb dishes, Kibbe, and much more. When the weather is good, eat outside!

We visited with 2 younger teenager kids and we all lived it. From appetizer to kebabs all mezee (think tapas) were excellent. Service was pleasant fast and excellent. This place is a must for anybody who enjoys Greek/Turkish food in a lively atmosphere.

The service, the flavors, the textures and colors were very well thought out and well done. Very attractive presentation. A great small plate venue that is perfect for sharing ( or not) with one...or more! It is a place worth returning for another taste!

We go to Zaytinya as often as we can. Probably 1/month as we live in the burbs and only make the trek in 1-2x/month. If you eat at the bar you can sample a 4 course tasting menu for around $25/person. My friends and I always try to choose different things and share. Remember that these are small plates, but... An outstanding selection of tapas, attentive preparation to detail, attentive service, but pricy wine and a high energy, frenetic pace of activity in the restaurant . Difficult to have a conversation.

Go back every time we're in DC. Food still very good--I'd say A minus. Service waning though. It's so busy all the time. Wait person forgot wine, then forgot to order one dessert. Perhaps an anomaly, but it occurred. More expensive now also. Great wine by the glass selection from the mediterranean area. We'll be back, but probably not with... More

We were looking for a nice place to eat while in a trip to DC and found this one at trip advisor. I'm glad we gave it a try! Everything we had was good!

Tasty tasty tasty. Great service. Food is wonderful. Getting a table may be difficult. If you don't have reservations then goooooood luck. Portions are a bit small for the price of each dish. I go back consistently whenever in the mood for great Mediterranean food!
