Description: Pinons has been located in downtown Aspen, across the street from the historic Hotel Jerome since February of 1988 and has been locally owned and operated since then. The dining room, which seats 130,recently re-decorated in a mountain contemporary style, evokes the casual sophistication that has come to symbolize Aspen. The windows frame picturesque Aspen Mountain. The cuisine has been described as traditional American influenced heavily by local products and current trends. Pinons has received many renowned awards but cherishes most the recognition by locals as the most coveted reservation in town. The intention is to create an experience that is unique yet comfortable; create food that is creative yet approachable. You will want to go for a special occasion and for a night out with friends to have a bite in the bar and chat with the locals. You don't leave Pinons disappointed - quite the contrary. The intention is to exceed expectations. Pinons is a must for any visit to Aspen.

Good enough. Expensive. Made me and my girl shop at City Market. It's just okay to good food if you come from NYC but for Eleven Madison prices. Just like the rest of Aspen, and I have to live here. Go to early and get the "secret" prix fix at the bar, go at 5:30pm ish.

This is very popular with visitors and locals, but I cannot see why. The food was average and not great, the prices were expensive and the service was very poor - had to keep asking for water to be the topped up. We had the bill within 2 seconds of finishing our last mouthful and despite asking 3 times for... More

I don't understand your reviewers of Aspen. Having eaten in at least twenty Aspen spots each year for the last 20 years, I'm confident that Pinons is consistently the best. Their food is innovative and outstanding, always a great fish dish such as macadamia coated mahi. Always a dandy piece of elk. A great sommelier with an extensive but generally... More

Nice atmosphere and service. My wife and I had buffalo tenderloins that were prepared perfectly. Their breads (you get three different kinds) were awesome and their pistachio gelato was absolutely the best (and we have had the gelato in San Gigmignano). I was very impressed with their wine list. It was quite extensive but had a great range of prices,... More

We've had lots of overpriced mediocre food in Aspen. We've been waiting for that one special place, with skilled chefs, polite knowledgeable wait staff, and creative food. Pinons is that place. We ordered the Duck Quesadilla which was quite good, and Freddy salad which is comprised of Romaine hearts, crisp bacon, baby roma tomatoes & creamy ranch dressing. It was... More

We ordered an appetizer to share, three salads, three pricey entrees, Peligrino, 4 glasses of wine, one dessert. The food was excellent. The waitress brought our salads first, appetizer second. What? I asked why, and she said the appetizer takes twenty minutes, this way was faster. Really. While eating the appetizer, she removed the plates for two of us and... More

The titles says all of it. If you enjoy a classsic American mid-western food this is the place. Nicely western decoration, the staff is well trained and the service is very good.

Highlight of our dining in Aspen. Really good food well presented. Recommend the sashimi tuna taco. Delicious. Also fig and nut salad. Would strongly recommend this restaurant.

We were recommended to Pinons by a local business owner. We didn't have a reservation but it was early in the evening and they had a lot of tables. We were greeted by a comment similar to "you're walk-ins???....I guess we can take you." Didn't exactly make us feel welcome, but this is Aspen. Be prepared....this is a really, really,... More

I guess I must be spoiled by all the great restaurants at my fingertips, living in New York City. While the food and atmosphere at Pinons was certainly upscale, it wasn't anything that I couldn't find at home. I will say though, that the bread basket was delicious! 3 different types of bread came out, piping hot...the banana walnut was... More
