FOOD IS AMAZING!!! IF YOU WANT AUTHENTIC BELIZEAN FOOD - THIS IS THE SPOT. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS IT! It's not along the beach and that is why it is CHEAPER. It's just walking distance from Sunbreeze hotel. Family owned restaurant. SUPER FRIENDLY! If you want to eat authentic belizean food, MUST GO HERE!!! Food is Heavenly!

Best restaurant in town! This was recommended by one of the locals and I'm glad! We had the Stew Chicken and could not get enough! Had to make another stop before leaving Belize.

I loved the close family feeling and authenticity of El Fogon! The prices can't be beat, and the service is excellent. What more can you ask for?

By far some of the best food I have ever had. Fresh, delicious...the staff is friendly. We went back twice after our first trip. Dinner comes with an appetizer (totally do the fish balls...luv!) and dessert. Fresh lobster was CHEAP!!! and outstanding. We had to laugh when the owner asked us if we were in a hurry of if we... "El Fogon" translates into "The Hearth", or "Fireside".. and what an EXCELLENT way to keep the stewed chicken a stewing, and the pigtail soup simmering.. in an outside kitchen setting...GREAT cool little place just off middle street, zig zag alley by the airstrip.. Located in a shady area with a picnic table setting in soft white sand. The "Hearth" is... More

Plenty of fish selections on the menu. Food was great. Sand floors and picnic tables add to the ambiance. Located close to baggage claim. Turn left out of baggage claim, walk less than a block. The restaurant is located in the alley next to the food store.

Thank you very much for enjoying El Fogon. It is a family style restaurant with lots of good traditional food. Note: The firehearth (pit) is only lite during lunch hours. During Dinner you will find that all the preparation and cooking is done inside the kitchen and NOT the pit. Except a couple of evening we may be stewing something... More

What a wonderful gem tucked into the side street. Our server Henry would fit in in the high end restaurants that I myself manage! Go for a quiet, laid back nice 3 course dining experience. Great food, interesting and exciting experience, and surprisingly friendly, efficient, personalized service!

This restaurant is not on the beach, but is very close to the airport. The food was really good and I'd recommend this to everyone, including families with small children. We tried the conch fritters - so good! We also tried the stewed chicken. That was really good too. The watermelon juice was too sugary for me, but that was... More

Belize has some of the best food of any country we have visited. Fogon was highly recommended and the place looks great when you get inside. The servers were very friendly but the actual service was snail slow. Food in Belize is inexpensive, this place was not. Our $50 dinner is the equivalent of $100 in the states, we got... More

Wow... A terrible topic for a not terrible review. Thank you for commenting on this forum, but I am sure this would have been handled differently if you had said something right away. We appologize sincerely and hope that we can reinvent your experience at our place. We may had not done something properly, but do not accept the "worst... More
