Thought we'd find French pastries, but they were relatively tasteless, not flaky and not what I was expecting. That said, it was edible, and their sandwiches are great to take along for a day out on the water.

Dear Skiingal
thank you for your review of Mathieu's Deli at Robert's Grove. We do not purport to be a "french bakery" and nowhere is it advertised as such, we are a "Bakery, deli gourmet, sandwiches, wines" - perhaps you expected you'd find french pastries because of the name Mathieu's - that happens to be the name of the German...

I really enjoyed a tasty breakfast sandwich. Plus, the outdoor seating and view are lovely. Service was great.
Located in the Habanero’s Restaurant across from (and part of) Robert’s Grove, this gem is a re-locate from the San Pedro area of Belize. After our first warm welcome from Mathieu himself (with lots of samples) we made several return trips for the fantastic cold meats and cheeses (from Belize-based Caves Branch). We also sampled (and purchased) several of the...

Belize is not known for good bakery and especially not good bread so how wonderful to get some excellant bread. We also had breakfast here one morning and it was excellant as well. They also have a good selection of cheeses that are also hard to find in Belize.

We have moved Mathieu's to the wonderful Robert's Grove in Placencia - where Gunter is getting to express his creativity with four restaurants and a full, big deli space. Unfortunately although we had tried over the course of two years to...

Only the freshest salads and sandwiches will do for this impeccable chef! My wife and I came for lunch one afternoon and were totally impressed with the flavors that we thoroughly enjoyed. We were told about a special dinner that was planed for the following evening which involved a throw down labeled "East meets West" What an evening of great...

I cannot say enough great things about this place! The food is fresh and wonderful. The “Breakfast sandwich” is the best thing I’ve ever had. Add the grapefruit habanero sauce they have behind the counter and you are all set for the best breakfast on the island! Ana is so welcoming, one morning my friend asked if they had grapefruit...

You only have to walk by this wonderful shop to have your taste buds cry out to get me inside now. Once in, you'll find everything from breakfast sweets to dinner takeouts. I always make it a point to make this my first stop when I get there and my last stop before I leave.
