I was staying directly across the street at the luxx xl (dont stay there, waste of money!) and after a crazy long day just wanted to get some dinner then head to bed before a early morning flight back to the states. We walked across the street after checking it out online. Why no menu online? Reviews made it seem... More

New name, new menu? Well I don't know about that but this meat-centered restaurant is a new staple in Bangkok for quality meat. Most of us had one of the lambs, which are priced reasonably and was very well worth it. You can pick 2 sauces to come with your meat and an assortment of side dishes like mashed potatoes,... More

I had arranged a client lunch a G&J as they offer an interesting set-course for a decent price. While the food was well presented the slow service was extremely frustrating and detracted from the whole experience. The restaurant was not crowded, but it took close to 2 hours to get through the meal. There seemed to only be one waiter... More

Set menus rarely excite me, but this one did. We had a choice of 3 seafood appetizers (lobster bisque, grilled seafood salad, and lobster ravioli) and 3 mains (duck, fish, and wagyu beef) and 2 desserts (chocolate fondant with truffle {yes, truffle} ice cream and chestnut mousse. They also added in a delicious amuse bouche and an inter-course (giggle) champagne... More

One of the best meals we had this time in Bangkok (we come often). The service was impeccable, and the food, well, to die for. Even the bread was amazing. We came on a night where there was a huge birthday party going on, with very noisy locals. The staff were gracious, and apologetic, and to the point of offering... More

My lunch at Gai & Joel six months ago was so enjoyable that I went there again, this time for dinner. I ordered the ravioli in lobster sauce, the lamb rack with cinnamon and the Gai & Joel tiramisu, from the set dinner menu. The food was excellent. The ravioli in lobster sauce was delicious. The ravioli was meaty and... More

This gem of a restaurant is within walking distance of the Four Seasons. Food was excellent—scallops, pasta and fish were all very nicely done. Presentation was impressive, and the service had all the nice touches—very pleasant amuse bouche and a refreshing sorbet. An interesting feature—there is a TV in the restaurant with a closed circuit view of the kitchen. The... More

Like the other TA comment before, we also saw the owner/chef of Gai and Joel Restaurant competing in "Iron Chef" The food was delicious, service was spot on and we had a pleasant chance to speak with the owners, which obviously have a true passion for food. This is a great restaurant to come and relax with friends and family... More

We were the only couple in the restaurant during prime dining hours, which is a warming sign but decided to eat there based on the reviews. The menu is somewhat limited, and we decided to share a dish and an appetizer. The server was dry and rather inattentive, but the presentation of the food was spectacular with an artistic flair.... I went to Joel and Gai in my first Thailand trip in July 2012. I was recommended by the TripAdvisor review and go there for lunch. It's a weekday so not many customers. The 4-course and 3-course set lunch is at a very reasonable price. All food is presented and decorated like arts and taste good. I love this place... More
