We had lunch here and we loved it! We had Pad Thai and curry dishes and they were wonderful. However, by far the best thing I had there was the "Funky Dog Iced Coffee" which was a frozen coconut drink drizzled with honey and they bring you a side of espresso. It was out of this world amazing. I am... More

Anyone who has a problem with the owner of Funky Dog, Mr. Aun, is missing something. This family run establishment is truly authentic and offers some of the best food in Chiang Mai. When he offers his spicy concoction of chillies, citrus & fish oil he includes advice on how to use it to improve your culinary experience. This restaurant... More

Not quite sure about other peoples' gripes with the owner so can't really comment there but he was amiable with us and quite funny. I loved the feel of this place AND the yellow curry, so much so I had to go back a couple of times to have it again. I really enjoyed this place and would go again.

Good for breakfasts, a pad thai, or most anything on the menu, this eccentric cafe actually has a good kitchen.

It looked like a cool place so we went in. We ordered expensive breakfasts which had coffe included. We said we wanted iced coffee, and it seemed like that was no problem (like always). Our breakfast comes and it is alright. However very small juice included and ants in the cereal. We enjoy and juse the wifi. We get the... More

This is not the cheapest place in Chiang Mai, but food is gorgeus and it's more than affordable. The owner (and the funky dog) gives a special atmosphere to the place. They make you feel like at home. Breakfast is also fantastic.

We liked it a lot. Only had some drinks hanging around and watching the people passing by. Very nice atmosphere and music. Staff was very friendly.

We stumble upon this place while walking back to our guesthouse one night. A guest inside said we should eat here. "Why not," I thought. I ordered a Leo and sat on the bench facing the street. Great spot for people watching. The dinner we got was good, but I found the breakfast we got there the next day to... More

Another unbiased review from Fatt Matt. As usual, your results may vary. What I had: tomato chicken curry and a couple of beers. What it cost: I don't recall exactly. Something like 250 baht I think. Beers were 80 baht for a big Leo. Goods: Free WiFi. Password is, ironically, "funkydogcafe". Okay music. Outdoor seating. Actually, the whole place is... More

My boyfriend and I had breakfast here on one of our days in Chiang Mai. The owner is a cool, laid-back guy who serves the best fruit, muesli and yoghurt. A great start to our busy day. The vibe is chilled and there's some lovely decor inside.
