During my latest trip to Cairo I discovered a hidden place this resturant is altra chic Service is 5stars food is Devine A modern Italian atomospher food is excellent
high class locals..., great food with reasonable price...,you have the dinning area on the left where you can go first, then you cross over to the right to apperitifo to take a drink on the bar, where it is more lively...
Hidden away in a house (Boehlers Mansion) which you won't easily find - and without any sign outside the building - there are two lovely (rather upmarket) places on the first floor. Walk - or take the wonderful century-old art-deco elevator. The "Aperitivo" is a bit more lively, loud - supposedly "Italian". The "Bodega" is more dinner-wise. Great food. Good... More
It is difficult to find with no sign on the street. Its just yto the right of Drinkies (beer, wine and spirits) on the second floor of a fairly nondescript building. Beautiful space with 20 foot ceilings and nicely set out tables. Beer and wine available. Food could be better but it is a good average - varied menu. Good... More
I've been visiting Cairo since 1994. I've been to La bodega since 2000. It's fine, nice enough. Food is good. Mainstream. Not as special as I remember it; but I'll go again and again.
located in Cairo is marvellous Zamalek neighbouhood, La Bodega is a place for hanging out or having a decent meal in a fine cuisine restuarant. excellent service and nice clientele. no view, but be sure that this is the place to see and to be seen.
Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Boho Cairo. Feels like the revolution could have started here. Amazing atmospheric place.
If you're looking for a place with great food, friendly atmosphere, awesome vibes and a cool crowd look no further than La Bodega. Walking into the building you walk into a different era, with high ceiling marble and wooden floors and an old escalator which is a nice break from the hussle and bussle outside on the streets of Cairo.... It felt really cool to eat in such and old building with lots of history. Prices are very good for the class of the restaurant and overall it was very good.
Good food, rather mainstream. Setting is very non-egyptian. If you are known then the service is far better. The only real problem is the smoke! After one hour I need to leave because of the heavy smoking.
