Having previously dined at M on the Bund this restaurant was a must for our visit to Beijing and therefore booked months in advance to avoid disappointment. However disappointed we were. From the very atacky and well hidden entrance into a very grubby lift and with no welcome we were directed to the bar to order drinks and await our... More

'Capital M' has become an iconic restaurant here in Beijing. Like it's older sibling 'M on the Bund' in Shanghai, it's location is stunning. Situated at the southern end of Tian'anmen Square and located on the 3rd floor of a totally renovated building, the restaurant and it's terrace look north over the magnificent Qianmen Gate. On a clear spring or... More

A very chic and attractive place with a lookout over the city and thoughtful touches like a kids play area. The servers aren't especially knowledgeable about the menu or as fluent in English as you'd expect, considering the majority of the diners were speaking English. A set- price brunch includes a cocktail but of 3 different entree selections made by... More

As other have mentioned this is a special venue, but unfortunatly the food quality is poor, hot food should be served hot, it was not, luke warm at best.

There are some restaurants that make you feel as if you have "arrived" somewhere. Capital M is one of those restaurants. In fine weather, you can dine outside with a breathtaking view of Tiananmen Square, the cathedral-esque Beijing Railway Station and one of the old gates to the city. It almost didn't matter what the food was like but it... More

Five of us had a great lunch here. The service was exceptional and the food -well what can I say? Try the salmon and mackeral starter with the picked cucumber-presentation and taste were so good I nearly cancelled the main meal to have another one. he lychee cocktail slipped down a treat. Not at all average as a recent reviewer... More

I went here with some work colleagues for dinner on a trip to Beijing and was really impressed with the view and the food. The menu is one of those where you can't decide because everything sounds so good. I had the "Crispy Suckling Pig with salsify batons, sautéed silverbeet, roasted green peppers....and a good pig sauce" and it was... More

Restaurant decor is interesting and the outside seats offer a view of one of the gates of T square. I had pork neck in mustard sauce which came without veggies and was extraordinarily salty. We were planning on staying for dessert but decided not to risk it. Expensive average western food. There is much better in Beijing.

Service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. A great location to spend a couple of hours overlooking tianaman square. Not normally ones for desserts but we were tempted by the variety on offer and were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend to others. Kids reckon chocolate milk shakes and watermelon juice were a must.

I was there 1 year ago and is still as good as before. Not a very big menu but what is there is of a very good quality. The location is the very best, just overlooking Tiananman square, fantastic view from the terrace.
