It's always my first choice when I have guests in Jakarta, especially for first time. Amazing decor, good food (maybe too much to please westerns), good service.
The restaurant is know by locals as having the best indonesian atmosphere and food which is very good, but not the very best in town. I was invited there by a business partner. Is is really an impressive experience. Every room is decorated to a different theme or region, for example one beeing the "patriotic room" with pictures of the... More
Absolutely loveee the decor of this restaurant.. baroque meets vintage indonesian peranakan era. The food is fantastic. Great place for group celebration or after hours drink as the bar area is also unique and serves good cocktails.
Had the pleasure of visiting this lovely restaurant as part of a group tour. The menu was huge and I eventually opted for the traditional Indonesian rice platter so I could sample a variety of dishes. The platter was absolutely delicious and very good value for money considering its size. This is a very classy restaurant in an upmarket part... More
In a redesigned interior in an old colonial Villa in Menteng, this is a most original place for a very special Indonesian food-experience. Many small rooms add a feeling of intimacy to this place which is loaded with all sort of antiquities fot decoration. The food might be the best I experienced in Indonesia.
A nice place for a date dinner with tasty food. Service was good, attentive and definitely tries to meet all demands if possible. Had a lovely time.
We have been at Lara Djonggrang for a reception and a dinner with a group of 30 officials and experts from all around the world and we were all amazed by the quality of both the service and the traditional Indonesian dishes. We simply loved the food, it was really delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive and... More
This unique restaurant is located in Menteng area in an old house where the dinings are in the rooms of the house. It serves authentic Javanese seafood, chicken and beef with local vegetables and soups. Rooms are decorated with old photos, paintings and sculptures. There is also music provided by a singer accompanied by a keyboard player playing Indonesian and... More
I had a wedding nearly 2 months ago, my husband and I decided not to have a formal nor too big reception. Our eyes fell on Lara Djonggrang (we had one of first dinner dates here, too): compared to other similar level restaurants, it offers more for the same price. The staffs were really helpful and accommodative. We booked the... More
Lara Djonggrang was recommended to us by a local business associate. We made a booking and arrived to be seated in a side room which had 2 tables. The decor was interesting with local pieces adorning the walls and floor. Unfortunately, the statues were the only attention we would get for most of the evening. After we were seated we... More
