Ancient walls in the very restaurant gives a unique atmosphere to the complex... Good national Bulgarian food! ..
Very good traditional Bulgarian style restaurant in the heart of old-town Plovdiv. The location is also very nice, in a very nice old style house with a very charming garden outside for dining. The grilled meats are great. Makes you feel like a real Thracian!
An amazing place. And a perfect match for the superb surroundings. Nested in the old town (and by "old" I mean very...very old...we are talking archeological sites, amphitheaters that are dated century III). To reach the entrance you will probably have to take a demanding walk on roman "paved" streets. I think parking its possible near by. The place its... More
Tasty dishes, a wonderful outside garden. The basement is furnished with old stones dating from 2nd Century AD. As you can imagine now, it's located in the old city of Plovdiv. A little bit overpriced, but definitely worth of if you are in the mood of having a quiet dinner in the evening in a luxury atmosphere.
do order "vreteno"which is beef fillet with kaskaval, mushrooms and tomato inside"and we used to order atort called surpriz like pavlova in flames!!!from salads try sopska salad.a little bit expensive
This place has loads of atmosphere - we ate outside onthe beautiful terrace while most were eating insie in the lovely formal areas. But we had very attentive service, good Bulgarian wine and food and some nice kittens to make the experience even more special. All of the food, rakjia and wine was excellent.
Based on an old Dervish Monastery, this restaurant has been restored and looks wonderful. One wall is actually the mountain rock, with a full floor to ceiling painting on an adjoining wall. Spectacular! The food was extremely well presented and tasted wonderful. The wine selection is not huge but what is there is an excellent example of Bulgarian varieties at... More
The food and venue were outstanding. The food was the best that we had while on holiday in Plovdiv and Sofia. The courtyard outdoor seating was really lovely or we could have sat inside in the very intereresting rooms. The staff were very friendly.
Great building - different style in each room, but a poor dining experience. The starters were OK, but the mains arrived half way through and were getting cold by the time we were ready for them. I know this does tend to happen quite often in Bulgaria, but it was unfortunate. Mains were poor - very overcooked fish, one piece... More
