Food was delicious!! Personnel are very welcoming and remember your preferences. The guy simply knew how we liked our Hot Lemon-Ginger-Honey drink and when to serve it. Brilliant!!

The Bamboo Cafe is down a dusty slope between some appartments and a shop. It looks scruffy and nailed together but ignore initial impressions and go there. The food is superb and, as another reviewer wrote, the tea is worth trying. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked to order in a tiny kitchen area by some very skilled...

Bamboo cafe enjoys a great rating on trip advisor, so we decided to SPECIALLY walk down to the cafe from our hotel . It was difiicult to locate at first , as the cafe is built way below the road level. The initial appearance was really disappointing and the place is shoddy . We still went ahead to try the...

Arrived in kumily staying at periyar villa home stay for 3 nights (fantastic). Went for a meal here with our 11 year old daughter. Service started well.. Asked if we wanted a beer said yes if cold. Arrived 20 mins later after being put in a freezer, still tepid though. Ordered Fish tikka which was ordinary and not freshest fish,...

We were in Kumily at Jungle Palace last night , found Bamboo cafe just along the road , set back a bit from main road . Great find , food was superb , service good and nice tea !!! . If near , make the Bamboo your choice , doesn' t look much , but oh the food .
We saw a group of people leaving the night before, saying what a good meal they had, so we thought we would give it a try. It has an appealing rustic ambience, a bamboo hut with white tablecloths and pretty lights. We passed a tandoor on the way in where kebabs were being prepared, and my chicken tikka was delicious....

By the looks of it, this restaurant lacks everything in terms of looks or ambiance. However, let that not stop you from eating here. As the reviews tell, besides food being good, this place serves awesome tandoori items. Naans (butter and garlic) were soft. Gravy dishes were spicy but we loved it (we eat lots of spice). Ordered macaroni for...

Well worth trying this place. The tandoori chicken was the best I have ever had. Friendly staff and a good atmospher especially when the power is gone
there must be some good ratings on tripadvisor as it was busy with westerners but we found average food, overpriced and they tried to over charge by almost 80% I find it hard to believe they didn't spot that before giving us the bill. much better options in town
We came across this place by chance walking along the road through Thekkady. A covered open air restaurant that serves simple but nicely done north Indian food. Great value for money. Beer served in a teapot was an interesting touch (temporary licensing issues we were told). Service a little slow but charming, particularly when a half hour power cut occurred....
