Loved their 'balloon' bread and their testi specialty, which is food cooked in pottery which had to be broken when brought to the table.
In a town like Goreme - two main streets with very little likelihood of repeat business - the restaurants don't really have to try that hard. "Tourist have to eat somewhere, so they may as well eat here" appears to be the general vibe of the restauranteurs. But, having said all that, we took a punt on Anatolian Kitchen and... More
Local Turkish Cappadocian cuisine with great warm family like atmosphere, prices are extremely reasonable. Owner makes you feel welcomed, balloon bread is outstanding. I ordered the Chicken Testi served in a clay pot. When it's ready to be served the owner comes over and uses a machete type of tool to break open the top of the pot. The flavors... More
What a nice place for a meal, the food was great and the Waiters and service was outstanding wait until they bring you the balloon bread what a treat and experience.
At a wonderful dinner and followed up the next day with a fantastic lunch experience. Local Turkish cuisine is wonderful and prices are extremely reasonable. Service was great and when we told the waiter we were celebrating a birthday, the chef brought us a fantastic fruit dessert plate. The Cappadoccian specialty of Testi is especially tasty at this restaurant and... More
The restaurant had a very family like appeal to it. Had a warm/nice welcome by the owner and an amazing testi kebab
The lamb clay pot was great. It was our first. The pita bread was delicious. The falafel could have been cooked more and the zucchini fritters were okay although I've tasted better. Good service and nice people. I would go back.
The complementary lavash (baloon bread) was lovely. I had kuzu kebab and my wife perzola. Both excellent. Cheery friendly service free wifi (and fast enough to Skype the UK). All in all excellent.
The testi kebab ( clay pot cooked food) is very good, they give you some lovely cheese as well to start. The service is really friendly and we ate there a few times because it is so good. You must try the hot halva! Yummmmmmm , we may go back tomorrow once again!
