Really welcoming owners. Can eat as much or as little as you like. Food freshly prepared and all very tasty. Will definitely return next time we are in Essaouira.
We ate here last night - lentil salad, 'bricks' of goat's cheese, fish and vegetables, and a fish dish (lotte - not sure what it is in English) all delicious, accompanied by a decent bottle of wine and the bill was about £22. Excellent value. Friendly, welcoming owners and a very convivial atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
A little restaurant in the medina not far from main square, easy to find... where Ted, Fred and their lovely staff provide quick and friendly service and a delicious meal , at a very reasonable price........helps to book as the restaurant is small but usually busy...
It was your standard restuarant, it was small, the food was bland, but the staff were cheerful and gave a warm welcome, I wouldn't go to this restuarant again, but it was nice to try a different sort of style.
Very small restaurant indeed, charming French couple own. Wife (chef) comes out when you look at the menu and gives you more information on how she cooks it. Nice touch. Husband/man very attentive and likeable. We had pastillas (2 chicken for wife & child 1, and one seafood for me) and a pasta with tomato and mince meat for child... More
This was the best restaurant we went to staying a week in Essaouira! The food was delicious, made from local ingredients as far as I could tell, served in a friendly and personal atmosphere. We went there twice - first time, the special was Camel meat couscous - delicious. The multi-lingual service (French, English and German) was very attentive.
Led by a French couple this restaurant is a must-go in Essaouira. Small but varied menu with Camel on Mondays.
Restaurant La Decouverte A treat of a place to eat. Small, intimate with excellent varied cuisine and friendly personal service from the French couple who own it. I really enjoy eating Moroccan tagines (which is on the menu), but this is the place to go if you want to try something different, still using local fresh ingredients (especially the fish).... More
Finally a place where good food is combined with the quality of service and hospitality ... what more! Seasonal products purchased with due care to offer only fresh, nothing fresh. Preparations that express well the flavors of Morocco with a few bonus dishes keys ... so "Frenchy" (try the desserts!). And also the occasion a little more "fair", some pastries... More
We came across this little restaurant after seeing it recommended in the guide book. What a great discovery! We were the first customers of the evening and we were welcomed in by the delightful French couple who owed the restaurant. They were both exceptionally friendly & helpful. It was not long before the place was full but this all added... More
